Lyrics for Dedicated as interpreted by ChaoX

Dedicated Lyrics
I have a dream of a scene between the green hills
Clouds pull away and the sunlight's revealed
People don't talk about keeping it real
It's understood that they actually will
And intoxicated and stimulated emcees
Staring into dreams, paranoid, are gone in the breeze
Watch them flee, hip-hop heads
Take a walk with me and what you'll see
Is a land where the sand's made of crushed up wax
And the sky beyond you is Krylon Blue
And everybody speaks in a dialective rhyme
Emcees have left materialism behind them
Meanwhile I just grip my mic
And hope me and my team make it through all right
Because say what you will and say what you might
But don't ignore who it's for at the end of the night

Because this is dedicated to the kids
Dedicated to wherever music lives
Dedicated to those tired of the same old same
And dedicated to the people advancing the game
What's real
Is the kids who know that something's wrong
What's real
Is the kids who think they don't belong
What's real
Is the kids who have nowhere to run
Who're hiding in the shadows waiting for the sun

I've seen a lot of shit
I've talked to a bum out on Sunset Strip
He asked me, 'How would you feel
If everybody acted like you didn't exist
You'd lose your grip, and probably eventually flip'
So let it be know the only reason that we do this
Is so you can pick it up and just bang your head to it
While emcees fight to see who can be the commonist
We float overhead like a space oddysey monolith
Overseeing the game over being part of the same old thing
It's all going to change and a hurricane of darkness and pain
And acidic rain, promises you won't do it again
Meanwhile I just grip my mic
And hope me and my team make it through all right
Because say what you will and say what you might
But don't ignore who it's for at the end of the night

Because this is dedicated to the kids
Dedicated to wherever music lives
Dedicated to those tired of the same old same
And dedicated to the people advancing the game
What's real
Is the kids who know that something's wrong
What's real
Is the kids who think they don't belong
What's real
Is the kids who have nowhere to run
Who're hiding in the shadows waiting for the sun

Pulling me close the shadow is warm inside
This is where I feel at home, this is my place to hide
Pulling me close the shadow is warm inside
This is where I feel at home, this is my place to hide

This is dedicated to the kids
Dedicated to wherever music lives
Dedicated to those tired of the same old same
And dedicated to the people advancing the game
What's real
Is the kids who know that something's wrong
What's real
Is the kids who think they don't belong
What's real
Is the kids who have nowhere to run
Who're hiding in the shadows waiting for the sun

This is dedicated to the kids
Dedicated to wherever music lives
Dedicated to those tired of the same old same
And dedicated to the people advancing the game
What's real
Everybody who doesn't feel safe
What's real
Everybody who knows they're out of place
What's real
Everybody with nowhere to run
Who're hiding in the shadows waiting for the sun

Yeah....Reanimation03, no. This song is off the LPU 2.0 CD, which kicks ass. And was recorded just for the members of that, hence the name "Dedicated"

Reanimation03, this song was made in 1999 buddy, long after he was in the band officially. Heh heh, don't speak of things you don't really know of, because you must not be a true fan. :P

This was a song that the band recorded, and they kept it to themselves, way before the band became what they are today. It got leaked in 2001, mucho before the LPU 2.0 CD. The edition of LPU 2.0 is an edit.

I think this song is awesome! they're telling us that we are not alone with whatever we're dealing with. that's important!!!! this band is the one I listen to when I'm upset or angry or just have no one to talk to.

This song just shows how dedicated Linkin Park is to there fans. I love how they write their songs for money and fame, but only to help people through tough times.

I'm surprised that no one has mentioned this:

The song is just that, to show who Linkin Park is dedicating all their music to, to show who they are making the music for: All the kids who have lost hope or need to let out stress. Part of the reason that Linkin Park became so popular is because they write songs that people can relate to, and let their stress out. Apparently, people have been talking enough shit about Linkin Park, that they feel they need to explain why they are here and what their music is all about. This is the result!
"Because this is dedicated to the kids
Dedicated to wherever music lives
Dedicated to those tired of the same old same
And dedicated to the people advancing the game"
Linkin Park is showing that the music they make are for those who feel this way.

That's not a bad theory NewbiusMaximus, but remember that they made this song before Hybrid theory was released. I think Mike was trying to just expand the rap influence on their music with this. Most of their early stuff was more rock and metal driven and this brought the rap influence into their sound. That's just my thought on this, I could be wrong...

This song blew me away... I meen, I think I understand this song, a lot. And this song is one of the most emotional songs i've heard, and I think its maybe one of the greatest songs LP did.

theres no singing in this song. thats why theres no chester. but he was still in the band. obviously. have you ever even heard the song step up? thats just mike, but linkin park still did it. and there were songs where it was just chester.
theyre lyrics are somehow majestic to me. i dont even know how to say it. krylon blue? space oddysey monolith? it makes me so happy that there are still bands like linkin park out there that can describe things in a way that its difficult for other bands to. they havnt gone all shitty like most bands. i mean. nickleback. they used to be good, eh?

The song I can relate... It's old song but I found only few months ago. "Tired of the same old same", I think they mean they want to bring something better and new to the music scene. Linkin Park, they are different than other bands in melody and lyrics. I guess this song define their music.

I think its pretty much like Cigarettes from Fort Minor. Its about the rappers doing all this shit and never caring for their fans how it influences them, but LP are here to make a revolution in that...

k hackstar.... they r good, but they didnt have any metal influences in the music... it was more of rapcore, but instead of metal it was just like a hard rock kinda influence, just cuz they use distortion doesn make it metal

this song always makes me think of a childs mind....

'Take a walk with me and what you'll see
Is a land where the sand's made of crushed up wax
And the sky beyond you is Krylon Blue
And everybody speaks in a dialective rhyme'

it makes me think the landscape would be drawn with crayons and the rhymes like in a nursery rhyme
