The fire dies on its own
Leaving us to ourselves but not exactly alone
I think that something is out there waiting
Anticipation has grown
The air as black as can be
Can't even see that my hand is in front of me
I'm overhearing a whisper "they won't escape until the blood is set free"

So turn back the silence is deafening
Turn back don't let them see you again
They make the rounds at the midnight hour and
on the clock it's just a minute away

So we're hours awake and our only mistake is we bleed
And the hunger for the living helps them hunt it with the greatest of ease

Now I'm finding my friends
Hanging from trees, made a bed of a barbed wire fence
I'm on the loose with my neck in the noose but hey...
I enjoy the intense

So turn back the silence is deafening
Turn back don't let them see you again
They make the rounds at the midnight hour and
on the clock it's just a minute away

So we're hours awake and our only mistake is we bleed
And the hunger for the living helps them hunt it with the greatest of ease
No experience could ever match the sight of when a person is through
If it's the last thing I will do I'll be the one that will escape from Hellview...and I will

So turn back the silence is deafening
Turn back don't let them see you again
They make the rounds at the midnight hour and
on the clock it's just a minute away (twice)

So we're hours awake and our only mistake is we bleed
And the hunger for the living helps them hunt it with the greatest of ease
No experience could ever match the sight of when a person is through
If it's the last thing I will do I'll be the one that will escape from Hellview...and I will

General Comment:its clearly about getting stuck in a town with the residents killing everyone
he loves singing about and watching horror movies so why wouldnt it be about that?
it says in 96 quite bitter beings the town of hellvie, hence its a town
only way out is apparently flooded, how would that work in an amusement park
and i guess the town is zombies cause it says the hunger for the living
they arent vampires, vampires dont work in groups like that duh watch a horror movie
its not about some shitty town that he lived/lives in, i mean i'm in a shitty town, i dont think everyone is trying to kill me and my friends at midnight
the best part of the song is where he says
    Now I'm finding my friends
Hanging from trees, made a bed of a barbed wire fence
I'm on the loose with my neck in the noose but hey...
    I enjoy the intense
best verse in any CKY song haha
    anyways i'm done peace out

General Comment:lurxie might be right about the mental institution but "the fire goes out on its own" doesnt really make sense if its in a building and "and now im finding my friends hanging from trees" doesnt fit either
deron most likely wrote the song because he loved horror films

of course the hellview story is an urban legend and was written really crappy because think about it chad dies, chads still alive, in the music video the guitarist,CHAD, was hung and he almost died. and deron is the lead singer for the band
i believe that the person made up elaine and jane(umm how strange they ryhme lol) and the part about arizona
and i also believe that the hellview story is based off the songs
i think the story was poorly written too and wasnt thought up very well because deron likes movies that the killer is an actual person and in the story it says chad sees that black figure and then it disappers(ghost)
ive tried asking deron myself what he based the songs off of on ckyalliance.com/askcky but unfortunatly he hasnt answered me

and about hellview being about his life problems doesnt make sense either

this was the first song i heard by them and i became really interested in cky and the hellview songs so its pretty obvious that anybody would try to figure out what this is about
i guess well never no though

General Comment:I thought it was just about a fictional town called Hellview where tourists die. The song is linked to 96 quite bitter beings.

It could be about a life thats just so bad and messed up that you want out but you just cant seem to get away from it?

General Comment:I used to really love this song a few years ago. I still like it, just havent listened to it in a while. Yeah I agree with smartbunny. The story the song tells always gave me a vision about a bunch of patients in a mental institution trying to escape because they fear (whether real or imagined) the staff is after them. A few of them make it outside but some don't fare so well (the narrator notices his friends hanging in trees)
I also got this impression because of the name of the song--I thought it was a play on words about the psychiatric hospital Bellevue, for ex. "escape form bellevue"

Anyway cool song! Favorite part is when he says "I'm on the loose with my neck in the noose but hey...
    I enjoy the intense"

General Comment:That Hellview story is an urban legend, I think. It's poorly written, and They mix up the characters! Chad was killed, but they're charged with Derron's murder?
How about the story's not dated. How about this song inspired the story? consider that one too.

I think that smartbunny has it pegged. Some mental patients ("The Silence is deafening") trying to escape "Hellview" (sounds like Belleview doesn't it?).
They are trying to escape, but their tired ("We're hours awake") and are being tracked ("And the only mistake that we made is we bleed"). Their paranoia makes them run away, yet their trackers are gaining ("And their hunger for the living helps them hunt it with the greatest of ease").

    meathoof's theory's good too ;)

General Comment:I always thought Hellview was a mental institution because of the line, "They make the rounds at the midnight hour and
on the clock it's just a minute away."
