A spark will soon ignite, burning flame of jah light
A fire that will purify, and wipe away the city's lies
Reducing fortunes into ash, tear apart your useless mask
Nowhere left for you to hide, damned for your foolish pride

Chant down Babylon

Revelations time is now
Your world will crumble to the ground
Final judgment now has come, this is a Armageddon

A eulogy, for the modern man
Enslaved and devoured by the strength of his demands
A eulogy, for the modern man
Hide your head and cower or be struck down where you stand

To advance in truth and rights, to advance in love and light
The path of righteousness is leading, the songs of I and I are pleading
In the grace of Mt. Zion, with the strength of a lion
All barriers shall be broken, all heart alight and open

Chant down Babylon

Revelations time is now
Your world will crumble to the ground
Final judgment now has come, this is a Armageddon

A eulogy, for the modern man
Enslaved and devoured by the strength of his demands
A eulogy, for the modern man
Hide your head and cower or be struck down where you stand

A fire burns in Babylon

A fire burns in Babylon

Your world will burn

General Comment:Obviously, it's about the fall of Babylon, as said in the Bible. But yeah, it could also be interpretted as being about the end of the world.

General Comment:Babylon, in biblical terms in which this song is based, was the ancient capital of Babylonia, Mesopotamia. Mesopotamia being where modern day Iraq is located. Get a dictionary. Babylon as thought of today is a corrupt, materialistic place. Which applies to at least half a dozen cities in any nation.

To sum it up. You have to have understanding of biblical history despite how much Shadows Fall fans may see the bible as the enemy.

General Comment:Babylon is not Iraq. It's North America, and the fire that will "wipe away the cities’ lies" is the "burning flame of Jah" (Jesus).
