    My Interpretation:Sounds sort of Spanish. But Babylon was in modern day Iraq. Perhaps Jim was reffering to America slowly become more and more diseased (no offense intended).

    General Comment:that is a good analogy...babylon being any kingdom (i.e. America) where material possesions and war overtake peace and spirituality...such a civilization is bound to fail.

    General Comment:i think babylon is like the ideal promised land. america had the potential 2 b the new babylon but amid all the squalor its fading.

    its especially potent when we think about the hippie movement back then, they had the potential 2 really change the world 4 the better but 4 the most part they pissed it away thru drugs and selling out
