Get up and free yourself from yourself.

Locked up inside you,
like the calm beneath castles,
is a cavern of treasures that
noone has been to.
Let's go digging.
Bring it out to take you back in.

You won't do what you'd like to do.
Lay back and let me show you another way.
I'll kill what you want me to,
take what's left and eat it.
Take all or nothing.
Life's just too short to push it away.
Take it all.
Take it all in.
All the way in.
Let it go.
Let it go in.
You won't feel what you'd like to feel.
Lay back and let me show you another way.

If you knock me down I'll come back running,
knock you down,
it won't be long now
All the way in.
All the way.
Take it up higher.
4 degrees warmer.
Give in now
and let me in.
You'll like this in
Don't pull it out.
It brings us closer than
dying and cancer and crying.
Come on .
You can take it all.
Just like that.

General Comment:The song is about letting go of your fears and inhibitions to live a better life, and there is a side of you which challenges you to unlock your full potential. I do not know where people get the idea this is about sex, the human body stays a constant temperature everywhere, no one part is warmer than the other. This song is maybe a prequel to 46 & 2.

General Comment:I believe that visually on the surface, definitely some anal sex references. However I feel that is only on the outside. It sounds more like a person who discovers the dark part of themselves buried deep within. It's a depressed, bored, lonely person who finds another self who is willing to step up and make this sad person actually do something with their life. The evil self will do anything for the person, even kill those who are in the way. But as the song progresses we realize that now the evil is there for good. And even if the person knocks it down or tries to fight it, the evil will just come back running and knock the person down, dominating their will. In a nutshell it sounds like an internal struggle with our dark halves and how one person loses the fight against their darker self. I find a lot of Tool's lyrics deal with self discovery, spiritual healing and learning about the darkness that rests deep in the bowels of our castles, ourselves.

Song Meaning:It is obviously about anal sex, but the theme is that a guy is taking advantage of a girl - abusing her.

This song IS NOT saying "hey, anal sex is cool!" -

it is a man who is abusing a woman and trying to convince her to have anal sex to bring them closer together, to show him that she loves him and he loves her, but it isn't about love - it is about domination and power.

General Comment:It's about anal sex, which, believe it or not many straight men enjoy thoroughly, particularly when their female partner is willing to participate. This song is about persuading an individual to participate in anal sex.

General Comment:Alright. So I just wanna comment on hetero/homo tug of war that is still going on in society today. Gay people need to understand and respect that heterosexuals may find their sexual acts disgusting. Disgust is a powerful emotion. If we can realize that its not about we are as people but more about the imagery. Just like homosexuals may find certain things disgusting about heterosexuals, its not about who's right or wrong its about people and human nature. If that sounds disgusting to you.... Try to focus on yourself because nobody can hurt you but you/your brain.

General Comment:i think this song is about getting past that mental block that keeps you from doing what you want.. it doesnt take much effort, only about "4 degrees" worth of effort.. this is just my interpretation though.. although i feel like i can safely say that all the "interpretations" about sticking something up your ass are all wrong.. grow up

General Comment:Based on the refrain, I do believe this is a song of love, and the protagonist is trying to convince someone that they should be together.
He feels that even though they're different, they have a connection that is rare and thus begging her(?) to take a jump and try something out of her comfort zone.

I love the the caveman-ish lyrics to this song, makes it both weird and powerful, just like how love makes us feel sometimes!

Song Meaning:Link it with Prison Sex (and in my opinion Bottom).....

    Read about Maynard James Keenan.

Abuse..... It's about abuse.... Bug vague enough to be misconstrued.
