Eins, zwei, drei, vier, fünf, sechs,
sieben, acht, neun, aus

Alle warten auf das Licht
fürchtet euch fürchtet euch nicht
die Sonne scheint mir aus den Augen
sie wird heute Nacht nicht untergehen
und die Welt zählt laut bis zehn

Eins
Hier kommt die Sonne
Zwei
Hier kommt die Sonne
Drei
Sie ist der hellste Stern von allen
Vier
Hier kommt die Sonne

Die Sonne scheint mir aus den Händen
kann verbrennen, kann euch blenden
wenn sie aus den Fäusten bricht
legt sich heiß auf das Gesicht
sie wird heute Nacht nicht untergehen
und die Welt zählt laut bis zehn

Eins
Hier kommt die Sonne
Zwei
Hier kommt die Sonne
Drei
Sie ist der hellste Stern von allen
Vier
Hier kommt die Sonne
Fünf
Hier kommt die Sonne
Sechs
Hier kommt die Sonne
Sieben
Sie ist der hellste Stern von allen
Acht, neun
Hier kommt die Sonne

Die Sonne scheint mir aus den Händen
kann verbrennen, kann dich blenden
wenn sie aus den Fäusten bricht
legt sich heiß auf dein Gesicht
legt sich schmerzend auf die Brust
das Gleichgewicht wird zum Verlust
lässt dich hart zu Boden gehen
und die Welt zählt laut bis zehn

Eins
Hier kommt die Sonne
Zwei
Hier kommt die Sonne
Drei
Sie ist der hellste Stern von allen
Vier
Und wird nie vom Himmel fallen
Fünf
Hier kommt die Sonne
Sechs
Hier kommt die Sonne
Sieben
Sie ist der hellste Stern von allen
Ach, neun
Hier kommt die Sonne

Song Meaning:It's very likely that they're making reference to Operation Snow White and Sun as a god... Trying to expose all that New World Order crap. Listen to Seteve Quayle on Coast to Coast AM and you'll see what's wrong with the world. You can search the video, it's available on YouTube.

    My Interpretation:Heres my interpretation:
The sun is a representation of an abusive relationship one cannot escape. The sun being so overbearing blinds the person and like an insect is attracted to the light so are we to these types of relationships. The counting represents the opportunity to escape, but the sun (the woman) blinds us into ignoring the warning (hence the repetition of sun in between the counting, describing it as the brightest star so he cannot look away to escape ect.). Till then describes the sun can blind and burn (just like one can be hurt by such a relationship) and how it will not set tonght (representing how one is obsessed and infatuated so that there is no time to think about things, the sun is always blinding you, on your mind). Again the countdown to escape goes but once more he is to infatuated with the women to pay heed to the warning. Then Till talks about how you cannot control the sun (the women) it breaks out of your fists and creates pain, "balance is lost" (as in its out of his control and in hers entirely). The final countdown occurs and ends without the escape, doomed to work for eternity to please someone you have placed on a pedestal and work so hard for but treats you like shit and only stays around since you work so hard. Watch the video with this in mind and it will make sense. Notice how the dwarves have nothing and are still satisfied just to give snow whit all they have to that clearly never satisfied wench.. Even when they are given the ultimate chance to escape (when she dies) they still work for her until she comes back.. ect.. a rant. lol

General Comment:I'd say (to me anyways) this song is about the sun, that gives them life, it is the "brightest star of all" and a glorious thing, but it sounds to me like it is about the earth colliding with the sun "it wont set tonight" and they can feel it burning on them, though it could also be about the atomic bomb in that sense

General Comment:As for the song... it is about a boxer and it has been said in couple of posts. However Rammstein do have a way of giving multiple meanings to songs so...
As for the video... It's pretty much hard to understand it unless you are familiar with Norse culture, namely mysticism, and ofcourse with the works of Wagner.
To keep it short, it's based on Wagners "Der Ring des Nibelungen" ("das Rheingold" opera), where Snowhite plays the role od Alberich (Alberich is the chief of the Nibelungen dwarves).
Also this story is in a way connected with the lyrics through the "sun", as in the "das Rheingold" Rhein maidens tell Alberich about the gold that they are guarding (gold glowing) that when made into a ring (in the video dwarves give snowhite a ring) one can rule the world, etc.

General Comment:Actually, the song was originally written for a boxer, but upon hearing the song, the bozer thought it made him sound too cruel. You can note this by the countdown squence in the beginning, and also by the references to the hands holding power. Since this song is about die Sonne (sun), and the swastika is a symbol of the sun in ancient history, the boxer (Vitali Klitschko), did not want the label of the Swastika. Since it could no longer serve its original purpose, Rammstein made the song's meaning more open. I believe it symbolize the Nuclear age, in which a person who holds the will to graps power, can change the world.

General Comment:I'm probably not going to get a reply or whatever to this, but here it is...

Are you insane werumm?!!!! I felt insulted that someone would do that to such a great song when I heard it! Yes, Sonne is a great song, and yes, it is sung in German, but that doesn't give anyone the right to take its melody and replace the words that make it sound all Nazi! Then again, I was pretty upset when someone at work told me they were Nazis, because I knew they weren't, so I may be overreacting. As for the song, like I said earlier, it is hands down one of Rammstein's best, along with Rosenrot, Speiluhr, Sehnsucht, Du hast, Benzin, and a whole lot of others ^_^!

General Comment:I think that the song is about a nuclear bomb being dropped on a city and the people dieing and going to heaven, in the beginning of the song there is a noise just as it starts that sounds like a bomb falling, then they count to ten and saying "Hier kommt die Sonne" referring to the light you see when you die looking like the sun. After they say Aus meaning out. But you can also see the boxing reference.

General Comment:Also, it's pretty funny, how they were Snow White & the 7 Dwarfs & working with the whole drug thing. Snow White is another name for Cocaine, & the 7 Dwarfs names, Sleepy, Dopey, Grumpy, etc., are symptoms of doing cocaine.
