Well I don't want to see you waiting
I've already gone too far away
I still can't keep the day from ending
No more messed up reasons for me to stay

Well this is not for real
Afraid to feel
I just hit the floor
Don't ask for more
I'm wasting my time
I'm wasting my time
You can't stop the feeling
And there's no reason
Let's make the call
And take it all again
Woah again

Months went by with us pretending
When did our light turn from green to red
I took a chance and left you standing
Lost the will to do this once again

Well this is not for real
Afraid to feel
I just hit the floor
Don't ask for more
I'm wasting my time
I'm wasting my time
You can't stop the feeling
And there's no reason
Let's make the call
And take it all
I'm wasting my time
I'm wasting my time again
Woah again

See you waiting
Lonesome, lonely
See you waiting
I see you waiting

Well this is not for real
Afraid to feel
I just hit the floor
Don't ask for more
I'm wasting my time
I'm wasting my time
You can't stop the feeling
And there's no reason
Let's make the call
And take it all
I'm wasting my time
I'm wasting...

General Comment:First, This is about song meanings. Go to youtube for that.It took me a while to come up with what the song meant to me.
He admits that he loves her, but needed distance (they possibly both did). Because he stayed away so long "months went by with us pretending" there seemed like no point in going back " Lost the will to do this once again ". Though when he says they should "make the call and take it all again", he admits that they're one convicted attempt at speaking to each other from saving everything they had lost. Seeing her waiting saddens him and trying to stay is " Wasting my time"

I feel like i left out a bit, sorry

General Comment:yeah it was a caustic post
I actually really like this song
    it's a relationship song sure
but he's at the end in this song he's given up,
    not personally .... they're rich

    General Comment:Suicide.....
but they have to run out of money on the song first before that happens
or are a bunch of fucking preps from 'all is good B.C.' even aware that they wrote a song
    about something this profound
what does it matter? they have kids and wives that they settled with while people
with real problems contemplate this song
    It's not for real
and we're wasting our time....WASTING our time - - on someone else's angst
if it was ever even there at all......

General Comment:I interpret this song meaning that he's in a relationship. One that he realizes there's no reason to stay in and is saying he's just wasting his time trying to even make it work or stay.

No more messed up reasons for me to stay

    - I think what this is saying is that this guy is in a relationship with this girl but there relationship is just really bad. He doesn't want to see her waiting for him because he's already made up his mind that he wants to leave. There aren't any more "messed up reasons for him to stay"

Well this is not for real, afraid to feel
    - When he says this isn't for real of course he's talking about there relationship. And i'm pretty sure when he says "afraid to feel" he's taking about the girl being afraid to feel anything. And when someones afraid of any sort of relationship it makes the relationship no good. Or in his words not real.

I took a chance and left you standing
Lost the will to do this once again
    - He finally just gave up on them. Its almost as if he just didn't have anything left to give.

Then at the end of the song he sees her waiting for him, but he knows exactly where their relationship would go if he stayed with her. He's just tired of wasting his time on something that can never be real . And you can tell that he's hurt by the way he sings the chorus especially at the end.

My Opinion:Looks like the couple is in a relationship that is doomed to end. Both of them know it. "Wasting time" happens as he does not have the guts to bring it to an end even though he thinks they should move on. He expects her to "Make that call" and do it. "See you waiting" may mean he knows she will keep the relationship going until he breaks up with her. Some relationships are like that: they just linger on.

General Comment:I love this song. I think its about a relationship that maybe shouldn't have happened in the first place; but all of a sudden there you are in the middle of it and you have these feelings. But theres no possible way this relationship is gonna work, so you go through the motions for a while until one person decides to end it. And even though it was something that had to be done, you still feel guilty and sad about losing that person.
