Lyrics for My December as interpreted by matt24

My December Lyrics
This is my December
This is my time of the year
This is my December
This is all so clear

This is my December
This is my snow covered home
This is my December
This is me alone

And I
Just wish that I didn't feel
like there was something I missed
And I
Take back all the things I said
to make you feel like that
And I
Just wish that I didn't feel
like there was something I missed
And I
Take back all the things I said to you

And I give it all away
Just to have somewhere to go to
Give it all away
To have someone to come home to

This is my December
These are my snow covered dreams
This is me pretending
This is all I need

And I
Just wish that I didn't feel
like there was something I missed
And I
Take back all the things I said
to make you feel like that
And I
Just wish that I didn't feel
like there was something I missed
And I
Take back all the things I said to you

And I give it all away
Just to have somewhere to go to
Give it all away
To have someone to come home to

This is my December
This is my time of the year
This is my December
This is all so clear

And I give it all away
Just to have somewhere to go to
Give it all away
To have someone to come home to

Well even though id say its cliche it seems music revolves around love and heartbreak. To me this song has that heartbreak written all over it. I think it talks about a girl in which their relationship ended early and now he wants her back soooo bad and he feels like he is missing out on the greatest thing in his life. All he wanted was that special someone, the one like no other. Now he is acting like it doesn't mean anything to him yet he still craves for her.

hey id first of all like to say linkin park is a good band but theyre not great they need to challenge themselves more i mean listen to there newest song even they have no real guitar solos or anything its all just techno music and all theyre songs follow the same song pattern almost ababcb plus half their fans now r stupid people that listen to pop stations they need to come out with something dark and more creative that will take them back to their roots and satisfy their hardcore fans but no offense to them cus they r very talented and chester has an amazing voice and joe is amazing workin with videos and stuff

This...song.....is....horrible. There's nothing good about it. The lyrics mean the same thing all of their other songs do. Look to SoaD for hard rock.

this song i think is about reflecting on things that used to be good things but now just seem to be the worst things in life i think in a way its also about just simply the month of december cause that month is so simple but complex its the last month out of the year and its like time for you to reflect and try to change

tell me if that made any since

this song will forever remind me of my really close friend ashley, who passed away July 8, 2002. Everytime we'd drive somewhere, this is the song she'd listen to. She's a big rap person, so this really stuck out to me that she liked this song. I can't help to think that she gave it all away so she could have somewhere to go. i dont know. i miss her.

And I give it all away
Just to have somewhere to go to
Give it all away
To have someone to come home to

he'd do anything just so he can be loved and so he can feel like he belongs.

First of all, YoungAndDesperate, you wouldn't know good music if someone shoved it up your ass. Secondly, we are not looking for just hard rock (that's all you listen to, apparently, so your musical taste is quite limited). This is a moving, inspirational song that a lot of people can relate to, and since your range of music doesn't extend this far, go listen to SoaD. Maybe they have more meaningful songs than this one (I doubt it).

o mi god.... this is such a different song than linkin park usually does.... it is just so amazing!! i think this song says that he would do anything just to have somewhere to belong. And wait, this song was on the ReAnimation cd, & those are all remixes, so does any 1 know if there is another version of this song????

Okei, its really disturbing how many people liek this. Again, the same old 'I totally relate to it' Man...

Do you even notice that most of LP's songs are rap? Jeez, and btw, have any of you ever seen LP live? They have no talent whatsoever, a band is defined by how great they are because of how good they are live, not because of how much time in the studio they spend altering the sound.

Another great thing is how all of you wouldn't give a damn about LP if they hadn't been on the radio/MTV or whatever. Their lyrics suck, you can relate to them because they are so general, its like a painting with a white background and a dot. People could say that they could relate to it because....its a dot, and there's actually dots in real life, hah. Jeez, its really sad how many teenieboppers there are for this band, nu-metal (and pop-punk_ is destroying the actual extreme genre. But whatver, I don't care, you live your life following others and I'll live my life actually being myself, and true to myself, and not full of the corperate bull that the media feed you and tell you to like.

Later.

Onemanwar, im sure you live your life being yourself, that would be if your an attention craving bitch. I mean if you really dont like them, why come to LP lyrics to trash them? Why waste a moment of your pathetic excuse for a life? And I cant relate my life to a dot, i mean WTF does that mean? lmao!

LoL, haha. Firstly>>>Why do people go to protest marches and stuff? Why bother standing up for anything you think is wrong? When you find that reason, that'll be the same reason why I like to comment on crap bands...Ah, I know it would be too hard for you to understand, but whatever.

The dot thing>>>Btw, I didn't say you had to realte your life to it, but you can still relate to a dot. I was implying that anyone could relate to a freaking dot on an art page, because there's dots in real life, thats pretty much how people relate to a Linkin Park song, they make their lyrics so general so that they can sell to the mainstream, and almost everyone can relate to the lyrics. For example, In The End song, urm, duh, hasn't everyone felt like they wanted to shout 'Shut up when I'm talking to you?'. Then again, so does a 5 year old, and a 5 yeasr odl could probably write these lyrics.

'That would be in your attention craving bitch', ergh, can't you write it properly if you actually want to insult me? Lame.....

Why waste a moment of my pathetic excuse for a life? 1-Standing up for what I believe in (ie Mainstream music is mostly about making money off people's ignorance. But hey, hell, Slipknot, who pretty much hate as well, are better than LP, do you really think LP would sell if they were all but ugly? Urm no, thats my point).

And yes, you keep laughing, and I'll laugh at you for being so ignorant and getting swept away by the mainstream, and doing exactly what the corpurate money makers want. Later.

I wrote "that would be if your an attention craving bitch" and that is "proper" if you want to get into spelling, you dumbass, how about "and a 5 yeasr odl could probably write these lyrics." why dont you properly say that. Standing up for what you believe in is one thing, coming into Linkin Park lyrics to vent about your obsession is another. And because i like this song must mean im doing "exactly what the corpurate money makers want" right? wrong! your the one who is ignorant if you think that. You probably dont like any music.

Breaking The Habit, LoL. Its strange that you only seem to comment on (a) my spelling and (b) me commenting on a band that I hate, hmm.

Another thing, the reason why I come onto band lyric pages that I hate and comment, is because as I've already said, how do people get their point across to the government etc? They go to a place where government members are gonna be, which makes sense, and thats the same thing as I'm trying to do.

'You probably dont like any music'. What the hell? Of course I do, I know its hard to understand a band that isn't influenced by just the soul influence of money, but there are.

And hey, I'm sorry, I just couldn't understand your grammer, soz. No offense :p

Well, urm, liking the song isn't exactly gonna make the corperation unhappy is it? Jeez...

Obsession? So I'm obsessed if suddenly an alternate opinion appears on a lyric's page...Wow, real sorry about that.

Again, as I need to say what this song means for me, I'd say that Breaking The Habit is exactly the audience that the Mainstream are aiming this song at. 'Its wearing on my mind, I'm speaking some doubts aloud. You rob a dead mans grave, then flaunt it like you did create. Fuck you and your magazine, and fuck you and your long dead plastic scene. Buy it at a store, from MTV to on the floor. You look just like a star, its proved you don't don't know who you are. It's bullshit time again, you'll save the world with your common trend. If I was God you'd sell your soul'

OneManWar, I appreciate that you hate Linkin Park, however that is no reason to go around and preach it, you can comment on the songs meanings and everything, or you can just not comment altogether, this isn't a debate over whether you like something or not. If people like mainstream bands then it is none of your business whether they do or not, and the people flaming you about it are no different ;/

This song, personally, isn't one of my favorites, I just listen to it when I want to cool down, I like more upbeat songs, but that doesn't stop it from being a great song, soft lyrics, the kinda song you listen to when you're down

Chester made this song on tour. he wrote it when he wanted to go home for christmas but couldnt because he had shows to do. that is when things were goin a bit bad with him and his wife. he wanted to make it up to her. but couldnt. hehehe. i have the dvd. it explains it. lol. this is one of my favorite songs. his voice is really pretty. he basically describes lonliness though that he felt sittin in the bunk those many nights not being able to see his wife and his mom. he was saying or explaining how he would give his fame and money just to be with them everyday. and he takes back all the regrets and words that hes ever said to make them feel down. this infact was when him and his wife again were having tough times. he wanted to go back and say sorry for every mistake hes made and more. this was around christmas time. the time of getting together lol thats why it explains snow covered homes. thats where he wants to be. and the snow covered dreams. are his frozen dreams that he wants to melt to make them true. he wanted it to be his time of the year. his time to apologize for everything. he wanted to see the ones hes hurt or let down. and they wouldnt let him. so he made this song. and its oh so beautiful.

hehehe. you must be proud that you have the dvd, eh ssguitar?

onemanwar, do you really think that everyone likes linkin park because of their looks? what if you like a band before they turn big, then they DO turn big, are you a teenybopper? what if linkin park never turned big, would you feel the same way?

i hate people who dislike bands because they get played on the radio, or on tv, or by a specific kind of person. the band is popular. oh fucking no. just because they are successful shouldnt mean that you cannot like them.

Hey. I do think most people like Linkin Park because of their looks or because because they're popular, either way.

I guess you wouldn't be a teenybopper if you liked the band before they got big, but if you liked Backstreet boys before they turned big, does that mean that you're not a teenybopper? Hell no, of course you're a teenypopper, when you first hear a band, you know if they're teenypopper material or not, which Linkin Park are.

Another thing I hate about most Linkin Park fans is that most of them don't know anything about the metal genre, its history etc. I hate that Linkin Park have brought rap into metal when rap is one of the crapest types of music out there.

And....I don't dislike bands that are just played on the radio or whatever, bands that are played on the radio have a certain sound, and that is what I hate. Also...most bands that play on the radio do it souly for the money, they don't care about the music. That is what I hate.

And hey, I'm not preaching anything, I'm just stating my opinion, I'm just saying the opposite of your view, that I hate the song and band.

I think this is about feeling depressed and alone, "december" represents feeling cold. Everyone gets like this at one point or another, we all have our decembers. It's just a song about alot of regret and pain.
