I think that this song totally kicks butt!!! It is an awesome song. It IS a little different than what they normally do, but its good. This song is one of my faves. I think it is about breaking up with someone you really care about. And starting to regret it. I don't think it has anything to do with the month of December. Its just that December is the coldest month of the year. When you break up with someone you really care about, you just feel cold and lonely and sad inside.

Damn Chester can really sing! Im so used to him just screaming and bein angry, but this song is full of emotion. Hes sad and lonely. I think this song is about how u dont know how good u have it until it all goes away. Hes lost and confused.

corey taylor is brilliant 2 he should just go solo accoustic cause slipknot have good lyrics just the way they express them suck linkin park are my fav band in the world though i love my december 2 pieces this and in the end are very different songs to the rest but still kick ass

I recently read the book Wuthering Heights, and as I read, I was listening to My December. For those of you who know anything about Wuthering Heights, it's a tragic love story with a not-so-happy ending. This song fit *perfectly*. It was haunting and set the mood just right. To me, My December hints at loss of that special someone - possibly by death. When Catherine from W.H. died, it was the middle of summer, yet only 3 weeks later it snowed on her grave. Very odd. Heathcliff, her love, would do anything to get her back. He'd 'give it all away' just to have her back, 'to have someone to come home to.' Anyway, great song! Very deep and touching.

I agree w/ spliphstar the reason that most people joina band and make records is for their music to reach across to people. And for others to hear it. So how do u define a sell-out? How about someone who wears a see-thru shirt on a soda commercial and has song where the lyrics are

This song reminds me of when i got kicked out of my house by my two sisters. I was being stupid and i have regrets. I had to move to another town and I wish I could just go back home. Great song. Linkin Park Rocks!

all of the people who say they are sellouts obviously do not know what that term means! you should learn what your talking about b4 you go hammering some band, slinging around a term you dont even know the meaning of. this song is so emotional....and yes chester has an awesome voice....he really puts what he was feeling into this song. the piano is a definite change, mr. hahn did an awesome job on the 1's and the 2's, and the way mike sings/wispers....it just makes the song as powerful as it is. LP has a unique sound....and it comes through here!

i agree it's about a breakup witha girl since it's a guy singing i love chesters voice it proves he can do more than rock. like one minute he can be qiure boy then a fock punk screaming his guts out!! he's definetly got tallent.

You people are corny. This song is beautiful, it gives me the feeling of lonliness and sadness. Every band can make a ballad, but the test is seeing how the audience reacts to the way the singer can prove it.

lp actually are kinda sell-outs in my opinion. they even have dolls of themselves...think about that. And somehow all the kiddies get on my nerves who never ever listen to rock or metal or whatever but love lp, coz everyone loves them... but whatever, i still like their music as much as i did before, even if i have changed my tastes more to hardcore and 'emo' stuff...lp was the first band besides papa roach and korn who got me into this kind of music. This song is probably their best besides 'one step closer', 'carousel' and 'in the end' (although i can't hear in the end anymore...way overplayed)

i wanted to say that "my december" is my favorite song! it has a special meaning. My now ex b/f was sitten at his best friends house trying to figure out what the song meant and then he said it was all about me after we broke up. we had a rough break up cuz we were in love but and im still in love with him and i know in my heart he's still in love with me. he's the only guy for me. Gregg i love you so much! i hope we'll be 2gether again someday! Linkin Park is the best band in the world!! LP ROXS!!!

first of all, I think linkin park kicks ass and if you dont why are you here? anyways the song, i think its about someone who had to choices, choose a rich life but theyd be alone, or be with someone they really love and they went with the rich path and now that its Christmas or december and everyones spending time with the ones they love and they have no one, I know Im prolly completly off but Its just an opinion
