  General Comment:its strange how all you americans talk about the punk rock scene, when it was bands like the sex pistols kickstarted it here in ENGLAND. punk is 4 everyone, but a lot of u yanks talk like its yours...
  NOTE: I dint say the sex pistols started it said like the sex pistols, they were one of many...

    roppa it's funny when you say bands like the sex pistols helped kick start punk in England, none of those bands would probably exist or sound like they did if it weren't for American bands like The New York Dolls or Ramones, the Pistols were pretty much a rip-off of the Dolls with a different image. Sure there were no "Punks" in the usa but a lot of the music sort of started here and then it thrived in England while it wasn't as successful here and was much more underground, even the American bands were more popular in England. to be fair there were also some proto-punk influences in england too though and you have to look even further back to garage rock influences and the like, so no one can claim to starting punk

  General Comment:This is my favorite song... well ever. Of course I am from Olympia, WA and was a part of the punk rock scene in my adolescence so I could be biased...
  
  The feeling I get from this song is mostly about how Tim feels out of place in a big city such as New York. The Olympia punk rock scene was much like the east bay scene at the time. The Capitol Theatre in Olympia would pack out every weekend for a 3 dollar punk rock show and that feeling of belonging just couldn't be beat.

  General Comment:One of my favorite songs. Haven't heard the NOFX version, but NOFX is pretty awesome. He's sick of being away and wants to go back. I'm making shit up now so I'll stop...Where'd the Olympia thing come from? Did someone live there or what? It seems random to me...
