A whisper, whisper, whisper, whisper
A whisper, whisper, whisper, whisper

I hear the sound of the ticking of clocks
Who remembers your face
Who remembers you when you are gone

I hear the sound of the ticking of clocks
Come back and look for me
Look for me when I am lost
And just a whisper, a whisper, a whisper, a whisper

Just a whisper, a whisper, a whisper, a whisper

Night turns to day
And I still have these questions
Bridges will break
Should I go forwards or backwards
Night turns to day
And I still get no answers
Just a whisper, a whisper, a whisper
A whisper, a whisper, a whisper

(Just a whisper, whisper, whisper, whisper)
I hear the sound of the ticking of clocks
Who remembers your face
Who remembers you when you are gone

I hear the sound of the ticking of clocks
Come back and look for me
Look for me when I am lost
And I am just a whisper, a whisper, a whisper, a whisper

Just a whisper, a whisper, a whisper, a whisper

Oh ha ah ah ah ah ah ah

My Opinion:I honestly don't know the meanings for the rest of the song but it almost sounds like they're talking about that moment when you wake up and you feel fine and ready, then reality sets in with such clarity.

General Comment:The speaker realizes he is running out of time and urges his audience to remember and find him in his lost state.

General Comment:the second half of a rush of blood to the head i reckon is all about the feelings and emotions following the ecstasy of "green eyes". this song explores a more shallow reaction where the character is just simply lost and cant find a way back to the "green eyes" situation.

General Comment:I think this song is generally about someone is lost. You could interpret this to be actually lost as in a place where they can't find a way back, or just lost in life. The lost person keeps hearing whispers as if they are hearing clues to get back home but they can't really understand them (possibly insanity?). Also, no one remembers the lost person so no one is looking for them. The person wants to be found but no one comes to find them and time just keeps passing (Night turns to day.... i hear the ticking of clocks...). The story is never resolved, the person just remains lost for the rest of their life.

I realize this song is pretty repetitive but personally i love it. I am a huge coldplay fan and have about everything they've ever put out including the b-sides and i think this definitely ranks at the top of my list. The guitar fits well with the spooky and kind of confusing lyrics.

And for the record when asked what he thought of this song chris martin said that it was one their most unpopular songs but it was definitely one of his favorites.

My Opinion:I think Chris is talking about how your life is just a whisper. Nothing big, nothing to be said loudly.
"Who remembers your face? .... Who remembers you when you are gone?"
    "Just a whisper...."

General Comment:a whisper is what i call a novelty song. it's where either the lyrics are stupid and shouldnt be paid any attention, or where it would be equally as good with out the lyrics. this is the second kind. they do these quite well

General Comment:Considering I love nearly ALL Coldplay songs...i must say, this one is similar to what Chris Martin said about "Ode to Deodorant"... "it's sh*t"

General Comment:I can't believe that nobody has mentioned what a rip this is on old Pink Floyd. The back and forth riff is almost verbatim "One of these days..." and some of the lyrical themes remind me strongly of Dark Side of the Moon.

That said, its still a great song!
