You know it really won't surprise me
If you're a wreck by the age of fourteen
The way you look
The way you look is fine

So often color-coordinated
Your sister she's an eighties fan
That's all right
Have I told you so is mine

You say your life will be the death of you
Tell me, do you wash your hair in honeydew
And long for all of them to fall in love with you
But they never do

Drinking vodka on the fire
Your mother has a watchful eye
So look out kid
She's onto you this time

Run away to a bed and breakfast
Console yourself with the Reader's Digest
Ringing yellow pages on the moon

You say your life will be the death of you
Tell me, do you wash your hair in honeydew
And long for all of them to fall in love with you
But they never do
No they never do

I'm gonna tell you something good about yourself
I'll say it now and I'll never say it about no one else

I'm gonna tell you something good about yourself
I'll say it now and I'll never say it about no one else
About no one else

General Comment:Saw them at Barrowlands last night, and my girlfriend noted from overhearing the conversation by the people in front of us that we were standing right behind Tracyanne's family, which was really weird.

Anyway, we noticed that when they played this song, the 2 younger boys that were there were crying, but not her mum and dad or anyone else. We were wondering what/who this song is based on that would reduce them to tears. Anyone know?

General Comment:I played this album a lot while playing 'Banjo Tooie', reminds me of my ex, I like the verse about getting drunk in front of your parents,

no one likes you except the people you don't want to like you, you're a piece of shit.

General Comment:I think this song is about acceptance especially in high school; acceptance among the popular crowd in high school. It delts with how people can' change opinions people have of them

"and long for them to fall in love with you,
    but they never do"

    hence
    "theyw ay you look
the way you look is fine" because the girl pressumably or boy is trying to change their look to fit in.

They feel abd about themself thus "I'm going to tell you something good about yourself..."

I sat in my bed last night, this song is a haunting reminder of my senior year, which is right now. A bunch of the "cool "indie" (they arenbt indie) kids at my school, who are popular, shunned me out, and I guess I tried to have them change their mind. Doesn't work, like yourself for who you are!

General Comment:It's "drinking vodka on the fire"
A truely intoxicating song. No pun intended

General Comment:those lyrics are wrong, i've tried to post the correct lyrics but i was unsuccessful:

    The way you look
The way you look is fine

    So often colour coordinated
your sister she's an Eighties fan
    But that's alright
Have I told you so is mine

You say your life will be the death of you
Tell me, do you wash your hair in honey dew?
And long for all of them to fall in love with you
    But they never do

    Drinking vodka on the fly
Your mother has a watchful eye
    So look out kid
    She's onto you this time

Run away to a bed and breakfast
Console yourself with the Reader's Digest
Ringing the Yellow Pages all alone

General Comment:i absolutely loooooooveeeeee this song!!!! this was the first camera obscura song i ever heard and remains to be my favourite. possibly one of my favourite all time songs! if i could only listen to one song for the rest of my life this may well be the song i would choose... Yeh i think it makes more sense to be "love" rather than "life" - its the glaswegian accent-tricky to understand sometimes!
