what's forbidden
is it treasure hidden
i've got a clue
on the trail of finding all about you

ask for trouble
a piece of the puzzle
when i saw you
so many locks and keys and chains shield you
two hearts crash inside against
when the suffering does commence
jolly roger run up the mast
and the seconds of love has passed

what's forbidden
has been boldy bitten
i found you
in tasting
the core of the sweetest fruit
confusion reigns supreme
when the promises are redeemed
tend the hook a tiger trap
lost on the edge of a treasure map
cover the wicked days
with the scent of a sweet bouqet
the spoils of love renewed
still on the trail of finding all about you

once forgiven
but never written
when i saw you
when i saw you
when i saw you
when i saw you
when i saw you
when i saw you
when i saw you
when i saw you
when i saw you
when i saw you
when i saw you
when i saw you

General Comment:To me this song is totally about a guy in a relationship who is falling for and kissing a girl who herself is also in a relationship.

General Comment:According to the Shield around the K documentary, Tiger Trap had been around playing and stuff and then Calvin thought they had broken up, and since they hadn't recorded anything he stole the name for this song and then found out they hadn't actually broken up but, you know, the song was already there. That, and you know, Calvin & Hobbes.

General Comment:Part of me can believe Twee!'s comment, but I doubt that's wherever anyone finds the appeal in this song. All Beat Happening songs have an elusive quality to them, whether in the indeterminate guitar figures or the odd symbolism, all of which culminates in this song.

General Comment:I dont' think it is a very good idea to do puzzles while chasing a tiger. Tigers are elusive prey, and large carnivores, and they will eat monkeys as well. It is never a good idea to distract yourself with a logic puzzle while tracking a large carnivore, as chances are the carnivore will take advantage of your distracted state, and probably hurt you, or even eat you. I am just saying on your next safari, if you bring any puzzle, bring a Nintendo DS, you can shut if off, and the rainforest wont' make the DS soggy, like puzzle pieces would get in the rainy and moist environment.

General Comment:Salty_Kevin, Tiger Trap were huge Beat Happening fans and named themselves after this song.

General Comment:I agree with marchingant mostly... this song is so bizarre, it's way out there (like so many beat happening songs). Sadness is just the beginning, it's totally ambiguous. "On the trail of finding all about you" is expected to be an in-love line but it could also be negative, just as a phrase. You can find out things about people that are bad. And the whole treasure map thing, with pirate references, is also bizarre.

then there's the Tiger Trap reference, you know, the band? What's that all about?
