So sick, so sick of being tired
And oh so tired of being sick
We're both such magnificent liars
So crush me baby, I'm all ears
So obviously desperate, so desperately obvious
I'll give in one more time and feed you
Stupid lines all about "it's basic"

(We won't stand for hazy eyes anymore)
We won't stand for hazy eyes anymore
(We won't stand for hazy eyes anymore)
We won't stand for hazy eyes anymore

So sick, so sick of being tired
And oh so tired of being sick
Willing and waiting to prove the worst of everything you said about
So obviously desperate, so desperately obvious
So good at setting bad examples
Listen, trick, I've had all I can handle

(We won't stand for hazy eyes anymore)
We won't stand for hazy eyes anymore
(We won't stand for hazy eyes anymore)
We won't stand for hazy eyes anymore

Think of all the fun you've had
The finest line divides a night well spent from a waste of time
And think of all the days you spent alone with just your TV set and I
Well I can barely smile

Think of all the fun you've had
The finest line divides a night well spent from a waste of time
And think of all the days you spent alone with just your TV set and I
Well I can barely smile

He's smoked out in the back of the van
Says he's held up with holding on and on and on and on and on
He's smoked out in the back of the van
Says he's held up with holding on and on and on and on and on

Song Meaning:This song is definitely all about drugs and being in love(addicted) with drugs at one time. For the people that think this is about a girl, it is NOT! He is talking to the drug like it is a girl(probably marijuana, coke, or heroin) and he and his friends are going through a relationship with it. From a young age we as people are told drugs are bad; but when you try them the first time, they can be fun. but after a while you get sick and tired of it. some of your friends give up drugs some don't.

Everybody seems to be having problems with the last paragraph of the song.(smoked out in the van, holding on and on and on.)- it's about before you do something when you are an addict you usually get a fix before you do it. no matter what it is. and the reply from an addict is "hold on" (meaning wait a second) so he can take a hit. friends that are addicts tend to get left behind. this guy got left behind in the van.

General Comment:This song is not about drugs or smoking weed...

its about a signifigant other that wont committ to one person and the singer is expressing his frustration with
her hazy eyes. hazy eyes refers to unsure not high....

the storyteller is ready to be hurt and is preparing himself for himself to be crushed...

    either way great song.

My Opinion:Really? All of my friends, and myself think it's about manipulation. Here's what we think:

That it's about a cocky guy dating a girl, and they're both manipulators.

    We're both such magnificent liars
So crush me baby, I'm all ears

I'll give in one more time and feed you
Stupid lines all about "it's basic"
Willing and waiting to prove the worst of everything you said about
So obviously desperate, so desperately obvious
So good at setting bad examples
Listen, trick, I've had all I can handle

Things like this wreak of sarcasm and cockiness. Since there isn't really a sense of loss, the guy was the better manipulator. After he got bored with her not being able to keep up, kicked her aside.

We won't stand for hazy eyes anymore.

Obviously drug related. The part at the end suggests that he was a bit upset about her not being able to keep up with his talents in psychological warfare because he actually felt something for the girl. We won't stand for them because the unfulfilled feelings overwhelm, he's become motivated to find someone that he'll become just as fond of, and can present a challenge. Nobody is wrong about what any form of art means. The point of art is for people to walk away with different impacts made.

General Comment:i think this song is about weed/drugs

So sick, so sick of being tired
And oh so tired of being sick
    We're both such magnificent liars
So crush me baby, I'm all ears
So obviously desperate, so desperately obvious
I'll give in one more time and feed you
Stupid lines all about "it's basic"
    - he refers to her drug problem as her being "sick", hes saying there both liars maybe because he says he doesnt care about her doing drugs? and she says she stopped perhaps. then she says "crush me baby im all ears" so as in ok...tell me what u think im listening then he talks about desperation maybe shes desperate for more drugs or hes desperate for her to stop the line "il give in one more time and feed you stupid lines all about "its basic"" hes saying that hel tell her one more time about the basic of the drug and how its bad
(We won't stand for hazy eyes anymore)
We won't stand for hazy eyes anymore
(We won't stand for hazy eyes anymore)
We won't stand for hazy eyes anymore
    - when u smoke pot ure eyes get blood shot and u cant see them clearly hence hazy and hes saying he wont stand for it anymore
So sick, so sick of being tired
And oh so tired of being sick
Willing and waiting to prove the worst of everything you said about
So obviously desperate, so desperately obvious
So good at setting bad examples
Listen, trick, I've had all I can handle
-again hes sick of this and hes waiting for her to mess her life up so he can tell her see i told you so hence the line "Willing and waiting to prove the worst of everything you said about" then when he says "listen, trick, ive had all i can handle" he refers to her as trick, maybe because she tricks him? not sure but hes saying thats it i've had enough.
(We won't stand for hazy eyes anymore)
We won't stand for hazy eyes anymore
(We won't stand for hazy eyes anymore)
We won't stand for hazy eyes anymore
    - again he wont stand for her drug problems
Think of all the fun you've had
The finest line divides a night well spent from a waste of time
And think of all the days you spent alone with just your TV set and I
    Well I can barely smile
    - now hes saying think of all the fun times we had before ure drug problems and theres a fine line between a good night and a wasted night and hes saying think of all the days u just got high stayed at home and watched tv, and he can't stand it because they used to have fun now shes lazy and not being fun and when he refers to "well now i can barely smile" hes saying he can barely be happy about her
Think of all the fun you've had
The finest line divides a night well spent from a waste of time
And think of all the days you spent alone with just your TV set and I
    Well I can barely smile

He's smoked out in the back of the van
Says he's held up with holding on and on and on and on and on
He's smoked out in the back of the van
Says he's held up with holding on and on and on and on and on
-this line im not to sure about it seems as this whole songs talking about one of his friends because he refers to them as "he's" maybe his friend is under alot of stress and his only getaway is drugs hence the line "says he's held up with holding on and on and on etc..."

General Comment:Well I skimmed the comments, way too many to read all of them, but yeah I agree with the drug references. Although I came across someone else's comment who said that hazy eyes could mean sick of being blind to or ignoring a problem- which could go along w/ drugs (as a double meaning) or any problem.

Anyway I will also add my favorite parts are "I'm willing and waiting to prove the worst of everything you had to say about me" and "the finest line divides a night well spent from a waste of time"

General Comment:its about past addiction and how he doesnt want the musicinas from this generation to be all labled as druggies, he just wants to show what good addicts can do if they give up the drugs
