Baby, baby, baby
What's it gonna be?
Baby, baby, baby
Is it him or is it me?
Don't make me waste my time
Don't make me lose my mind, baby

Baby, baby, baby
Can't you stay with me tonight?
Oh baby, baby, baby
Don't my kisses please you right?
You were so hard to find
The beautiful ones, they hurt you every time

Paint a perfect picture
Bring to life a vision in one's mind
The beautiful ones
Always smash the picture
Always, every time

If I told you baby
That I was in love with you
Oh baby, baby, baby
If we got married
Would that be cool?

You make me so confused
The beautiful ones
You always seem to lose

Baby, baby
Baby (baby)
What's it gonna be baby?
Do you want him?
Or do you want me?

'Cause I want you
Said I want you
Tell me, babe
Do you want me?
I gotta know, I gotta know
Do you want me?
Baby, baby, baby, listen to me

I may not know where I'm going, babe, woo, oh yeah
I said I may not know what I need
One thing, one thing's for certain, baby
I know what I want, yeah
And if it please you, baby
Please you, baby
I'm begging down on my knees
I want you
Yes, I do
Baby, baby, baby, baby
I want you, woo

Yes, I do

LET ME FINISH THOSE LYRICS FOR YOU right from where you left off 2 years ago:

Said I want you tell me baby, do u want me I gotta know, I gotta know baby baby baby listen 2 me I may not know where Im goin baby Said I may not know where I'll be but one thing, One thing is for certain I know what I want, yeah and its to please yu baby, please yu baby Im beggin' down on my knee I want u Yeah I do baby baby baby I want you yes I do.

I had to write that down to cause thats where all the passion is. Thats when the girls go nuts at the concert. I was amazed when I heard/saw this live.

The lyrics are pretty self expanitory. He wants to be with her and she can't seem to make up her mind. It's like she feels like there is something more beyond her life with him, but he's sort of tired of waiting.

It sort of applies to how the pretty people (the beautiful ones) tend to not settle right away because they play the field so long. It's hard to put in words but i'm sure you understand.

This is my favorite Prince song that so many don't even think about. It's from Purple Rain and I will forever remember him laying on the stage singin'/belting the last part of the song. Thanks for adding those violectrica. What an incredible song!

This is really an underrated song and it's grown on me from when this album/move were released. The lines that resonate me with are: "the beautiful ones will hurt you every time"-especially with unrequited love "If I told you baby....that I was in love with you"-there's a sweetness in telling the object of your affection how you feel about them.

Honestly, I think this is a fantastic song telling of love rising to the surface where the person has to tell the object of their affection how they feel about them.

I think the whole thing's a metaphor myself. I've heard it's a Messianic song, and if it's true then it would explain a lot. The "him" is a metaphor for the material, physical world; the "me" is whatever god you may believe in. The "beautiful ones" are materialistic, vain, shallow, and so forth. The narrator believes this woman he's talking to is above those kinds of people and is too good for any of them. I don't know, maybe it is just a love song, but when taken into that context the ending's much too epic. By the way, this may seem like some right-wing conservative fundamentalist shooting off, but I'm not that way, though I'm far from a materialist either. I rest somewhere in between the two. Regardless of what it's about, it's my favorite Prince song, if just for that ending.

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/
