I think this one is pretty easy to understand. This girl and guy had a rough relationship, and finally the guy got fed up and left, but she still loves him.

Any other thoughts?

This one actually isn't my fave but it's ok.

Why does it necesarilly have to be a girl and a guy? actually, given that T+S are lesbians, it'd make more sense for it to be a girl and a girl...

I can assure you both of them are lesbians. Check out almost any article about them and you'll see for yourself. geekusa, the guy who dated one of them probably dated them in highschool, or jr. high before they came out.
Tegan wrote this song after a bad break up....with a girl.

It's not about a bad relationship. It's about a good relationship except the person she is with has a lot of issues that they can't deal with

They both still love/care about each other a lot but one can't deal with the stress of being in a relationship in addition to their own issues. While the other person (the city girl) doesn't know how to help her partner and goes crazy at the thought of not having any control in the relationship.
At least that is my interpertation after being in a similar situation.

Actually, this song is about Tegan's break up with Julia from t.A.T.u. They are reffering to Moscow. Tegan was in a brief relationship with Julia during one of their international tours....god I thought it was pretty obvious...

Tegan never dated anyone from t.A.T.u. Tegan and Sara have made fun of t.A.T.u. in interviews before. Tegan likes to keep her relationships personal, but her ex used to sell the merch at shows and it definitely wasn't Julia! Also I think they have only been to Moscow once and that was only for 1 show.

It looks like I won't be getting over my voracious tegan and sara addiction any time soon. I'm so sad because I'm not going to be able to see them live anytime soon. :( But I'll get too, someday, haha. They're so amazing... I can't stop listening to them, old stuff, new stuff, blah. I wish I had started following them earlier. They're so amazing.

i saw these girls play 2 days ago in melbourne australia and they were awesome! i love them so much

This song is definitely abt the complexes of a relationship. How Loving someone who is going through something that you cant help or understand, can really frustrate you and hurt you so much; and it forces them to push you away. Yet you cant help but love them so.

then you start becoming a different person or you start doing things you normally wouldn't from your frustrations.
"I got so city girl on you I went so crazy I didn't know what to do"

this song reminds me of why my x and i broke up and i can identify with the frustration and anger but feeling such deep love that your stuck between loving this person with all your heart and having to watch them just go through something difficult and destroy the relationship you have by pushing you away and driving you crazy. It's not easy at all.
