  General Comment:This is one of my favorite Tegan and Sara songs! I think it's about someone who gets really torn up when their (in this case) girlfriend leaves, and they don't even know where the feelings are coming from.

  This song is definitely abt the complexes of a relationship. How Loving someone who is going through something that you cant help or understand, can really frustrate you and hurt you so much; and it forces them to push you away. Yet you cant help but love them so.
  "I cried so hard that you pushed me further away"
  
  then you start becoming a different person or you start doing things you normally wouldn't from your frustrations.
  "I got so city girl on you I went so crazy I didn't know what to do"
  
  this song reminds me of why my x and i broke up and i can identify with the frustration and anger but feeling such deep love that your stuck between loving this person with all your heart and having to watch them just go through something difficult and destroy the relationship you have by pushing you away and driving you crazy. It's not easy at all.
