    General Comment:listening to this song just kills me.it reminds me of the horrible toxic relationship i was in for many years. this song is just that. its a roller coaster of emotions and its just "crazy". the last verse says it all:

    and as soon as you have rearranged the mess in your head. he will show up looking sane, perfectly sane if i know crazy

    this never failed with him. we would break up and as soon as i had rearraged the mess of emotions i had just survived.the minute i was starting to get over him. he would show up..acting as if nothing had happened wanting to pick up where we left off.."looking perfectly sane". I can just hear tori sign at the end of this verse. i big long tired sign.

    General Comment:Another one of her songs that demonstrates how blurred the line can be between deep friendship and romantic love for freaking Amos. If she hadn't explained it was about Scarlet's ex-lover, or whatever, I'd have found it difficult to know what sort of relationship was going on here. With other singer-songwriters, it could be implied this is romantic, but Amos has a serious prediliction for making it ambiguous.

    General Comment:To me, this song is about those times when you don't know for sure whether it's a wise or foolish move to get intimate (and I don't mean just *sex*), but you all of a sudden realize you *have* to see where this story ends, so you she your normal inhibitions and fears and just 'let crazy take his spin".
