I'm on a high, I'm on a high
There's nothing more to it.
We are the sea and the sky
And the blue that runs through it, yeah.

And there are some who say there are so many things I need
So I run or I fight and I crawl or I scream and I bleed
I bleed, I bleed

Well, it's a lie it's a lie, don't you believe it.
If you're fine then you're fine, it's all how you see it.
Oh, there never will be no conspiracy of happiness.

I'm on a high I'm on a high
And there's nothing more to it
I have the sun, it's a star
Why should I refuse it

And there are so many reasons I could give you why I should be down
There's not enough money or time and my love you're not around
Around, around

But it's a lie it's a lie, don't you believe it.
If you're fine then you're fine, it's all how you see it.
Oh, there never will be no conspiracy of happiness.

You're alive you're alive, how else could you hear me?
You are fine, you are fine, there's nothing worth fearing
Cause there never will be no conspiracy of happiness

I'm on a high, on a high
We are the sea and the sky
I'm on a high, on a high
I'm on a high

It's a lie, It's a lie don't you believe it
Cause I've tried and I've tried, and I can't really see it
Yeah, I'm trapped inside my conspiracy of happiness
Said I was yours, you were mine but I didn't really mean it
And I lied and I lied
And I wish you hadn't seen it
Cause I'm trapped inside my conspiracy of happiness
I'm on a high, on a high, there's nothing more to it, yeah.

General Comment:I think its about the irony of people's struggle to find happiness, because the possiblity of finding true happiness scares them whenever the opportunity presents itself

General Comment:I think this song is about happiness being a state of mind and not something determined by your circumstances. It offers two different perspectives: the non-circumstantial happiness, the "high", and then the perspective of refusing to be content with your mistakes.

For me personally, it's a very relevant song in modern society because we're so materialistic and raised to believe that happiness is circumstantial but it truly isn't. It's a choice.

General Comment:I think this song is about having serious problems in your life, but having a temporary high. People seem to think you are doing fine, but in reality when it comes crashing down, your in a mess.

General Comment:On first listen this did seem like a happy upbeat song, but then I realized it's really more the opposite. I think it's about someone who wants to believe that life is simple and happy and you don't have to pay attention to the "reasons why I should be down". At the end of the song he realizes that he's been fooling himself all the time: he's created a "conspiracy of happiness" that just disguises all the real problems in his life. More interesting than just a "happy song", no?

General Comment:I feel this song is really best described in 2 parts.

In the first part, he's telling us to seize life. How this is our life, and we just need to live it. There might be "so many reasons to be down", but it doesn't matter, cuz in the end we're all going to be fine. It's all how you look at life and he's on a high just from living. He says there's no conspiracy of happiness, we can just be happy without needing a reason.

But then at the very end he kinda puts a bitter twist to what he says in the beginning. It's like he's tried so hard to convince everyone that he's happy all the time, but it backfired and now he feels trapped b/c he can't admit that he has negative feelings to anyone. That's why he says "and I lied and I lied and I wish you hadn't seen it 'cause I'm trapped inside my conspiracy of happiness"

Personally I feel that we should find a happy medium. We shouldn't dwell on all the reasons to be sad, and we should live our lives to the fullest, but at the same time, we shouldn't be so delusional as to ignore all the bad things in life.

    Really catchy song.

General Comment:This song is so amazing! I always think about it.. well the lyrics.
"you're alive you're alive - how else could you hear me?
you are fine, you are fine - there's nothing worth fearing"
They are so meaningful.. it's just like you're alive and you're fine, even though you think you have all these problems you really don't. It really makes me think about all the things I have and the stupid things that I complain about that I think make my life incomplete. Everyone thinks they need something else and more to make them happy and okay.. and you just don't.

General Comment:Corrections in the lyrics (now that I have the CD with the actual lyrics)... not sure if I would interpret the song the same way anymore, but I could still see it as what I originally said too. *shrug*

Everyone must get his new album.. IT IS Amazing.. wonderful.. beautiful...
