Lyrics for Secondary as interpreted by BrandNew1208

Secondary Lyrics
And it comes down to you
Never and ever, wrecked his day
Looks and flirts and noontime in your shortest skirt
Past the point of trying, I'm a dying breed
Thank you for reminding me of all the things I've done completely wrong

Stop these looks and letters
This isn't for the better,
you've stripped me down
It's for the worse
You're not my girl
(can't recall, I can't recall all the times)
I can't recall all the times
that she talked down to you
Letter's come again

Stop the circulation
to my legs and break my bones
Dateless and late
I'm better by myself at home
Past the point of trying and I'm dying here
Secondary laughs at every word
I know came out completely wrong

Stop these looks and letters
This isn't for the better,
you've stripped me down
It's for the worse
You're not my girl
(can't recall, I can't recall all the times)
I can't recall all the times
that she talked down to you
Letter's come again

And it's my last semester
And brothers always come first
It's my last semester (it's my last semester)
At least until next winter (at least until next winter)
But I'm sure that I'll be over this by then
Better scenes... I wish you'd seen me
Better off if I just let it be
Better pretend it don't matter
Better of if I could have her
Better days since the day I met her
I'd better hope she got my letters
Better off in two year stretches

the lyrics in the "cd book" arent always right because the band decides how to sing the song and sometimes its changed up from inside the insert, at least listen to the song while writing the lyrics.

This song means simply that he's having lots of mixed feelings about this girl who's been screwing with his feelings. He knows he's better off without her and that things would be better for him if she stopped writing to him and keeping in touch. He wants to get over her and concentrate on his friends and his life but a piece of him can't let her go.

this song reminds me of of a guy i know his girlfriend isnt worth the shit she puts him through and hes tempted to leave her but he knows he'd always rememeber her and kind of regret it. its probably not the meaning to the song but thats what it reminds me of.

I definately like how classic casualty interprets the song, I definately agree. It's amazing to listen to this cd then listen to Deja, they've matured soooo much, but regardless I love both cds, a lot, just deja a bit more.

I'm kind of confused. I've heard that jesse used to be in taking back sunday, but he left. I know he wrote 70x7 about john nolan of tbs, but i havent been able to figure out if he was ever in tbs. And if he was, what songs does he sing/play bass in?

specialk1035, jesse was never in taking back sunday, before brand new he was in a band with brian and garret called the rookie lot, they just lived near and were/are friends with members of tbs.

p.s. - i think this might be my favorite brand new song

This song is pretty straight foreward I think. It seems to be about this girl who is a tease, but never wants anything more. The guy in the song is "past the point of trying" to have a real relationship with her.
