Lyrics for Logan to Government Center as interpreted by BrandNew1208

Logan to Government Center Lyrics
Consider this a letter that I never sent
However inconsiderate it seems
Do you still consider me,
Consider me the boy you laughed with
Or that you learned to live without?
I suck, I know I'm late
I know you waited

You wouldn't get me on the phone
And you couldn't make me not alone

My phone bills stacked up by my bedside,
With your picture, you're looking surprised
You're what makes New England so great
My island nights are all spent dying
Wait for summer to become wrought with lips,
my wishful thinking

You wouldn't get me on the phone
And you couldn't make me not alone
(Yeah we can be)
Yeah you're a blue eyed lightning bolt
(Yeah we can be)
I'm a national phenomenon
(You wouldn't get me on the phone)
Nothing's absolutely definite 'til it's absolutely, definitely gone (definitely gone)

I never thought this day would end (never thought this day would end)
I never thought tonight could ever be this close to me (close to me)
So let my hands stray past that boundaries of your back
to get you breathing (get you breathing)
And get this started (get this started)

Yeah we can be, yeah we can be
You wouldn't get me on the phone
(Yeah we can be)
Yeah you're a blue eyed lightning bolt
(Yeah we can be)
I'm a national phenomenon
(You couldn't make me not alone)
Nothing's absolutely definite 'til it's gone

Still workin on whats bein said in the background of these parts...

"You wouldn't get me on the phone
And you couldn't make me not alone
Yeah we can be, yeah we can be
You wouldn't get me on the phone "

and...

"Yeah we can be, yeah we can be
You wouldn't get me on the phone
Yeah we can be, yeah we can be
You couldn't make me not alone"

If you know what theyre sayin in the background of those 2 parts or just think you might know, then post your ideas. thanx

I think the background goes:
"You wouldn't get me on the phone.
And you couldn't make me not alone.
(You wouldn't get me)
Yeah you're a blue eyed lightning bolt.
(You wouldn't get me)
I'm a natural (or national?) phenomenon.
(You wouldn't get me on the phone)
Nothing's absolutely definate til it's absolutely, definately yours.
(Definately yours)"

It's repeated again at the end:
"You wouldn't get me
(phenomenon)
You wouldn't get me
(phenomenon)
You wouldn't get me on the phone.

You wouldn't get me
(You're a blue eyed lighting bolt.)
You wouldn't get me
(I'm a natural phenomenon.)
You wouldn't get me on the phone.
(Nothing's absolutely definate til it's gone.)"

Also, it's "become wrought with lips."
And though I have no idea what they represent, Logan (Airport) and Government Center are in Boston and one could take the T from Logan to Goverment Center.

I'm not positive on any of that. Just my guesses.

So it seems to be about a long distance relationship...maybe they met one summer and she lives in Boston and he lives on Long Island. His phone bills are stacked up from calls he made to her, but she doesn't feel the same way about him. The title probably means that he flies (or wants to fly) up to Boston to see her and takes the T from Logan to her stop, Government Center.

theboohi - I agree about that part...it's awesome.

Well, I don't know about the whole T-Boston thing. But here is my take on it: I think this song is about the same girl as in "Jude Law and the semester abroad". He talks about phone bills, and then says "You're what makes New England so great", like she isn't in New England anymore. "Waiting for summer", maybe thats when her semester is finished? Then towards the end is when she comes home.

the background says "yea we can be" "you wouldnt get me dosnt fit", and its a "national phenomenon" the guy who type this up go it right, and im guessing its about this girl who's a friend and he wants something more than she's giving him, and "wait for summer to become wrought ith lips(my wishful thinkng" he's hoping for the best and wanting it to work out that way, but with his luck... thats my take on all of it, but hey i just might be wrong but its just an opinion/comment "cause nothings absolutely definate" or it could be about getting a second chance...?

The part where it goes "i never thought tonight could ever be so close to me" is from a song called "Close to Me" by The Cure. The Get-Up Kids did a cover of that song, too. Wonder what it is about The Cure that makes the emo boys swoon?

the word "emo" should be banned, and it's definately without a doubt "great", not "pretty". And this is definately the best song off this CD in my opinion...though the whole CD is great.

Subtle As A Brick is right, "I never thought this day would end. I never thought tonight could ever be this close to me," is from The Cure's "Close To Me." I just bought their "Staring at the Sea" and found myself finishing the line when I had never heard the song before. Good stuff.

HEY ted leo and the phamacists are on lookout records which i believe is owned by the Mr T Experience, but owned or not they are on it
this is my favorite brand new song, because of the part in the middle where it goes
"nothings absolutly difinite untill its absolutly definitely gone(definitly GONE)"
amazing
