He was the wizard of a thousand kings,
And I chanced to meet him one night wandering.
He told me tales, and he drank my wine,
Me and my magic man kinda feelin' fine.
He had a cloak of gold and eyes of fire,
And as he spoke I felt a deep desire,
To free the world from it's fear and pain,
And help the people to feel free again.
Why don't we listen to the voices in our hearts
'cause then I know we'd find that we're not so far apart.
Everybody's got to be happy. Everyone should sing,
For we know the joy of life, the peace that love can bring.
So spoke the wizard in his mountain home.
The vision of his wisdom means we'll never be alone.
And I will dream of my magic night,
And the million silver stars that guide me with their light.

I also don't believe that it's about homosexuality, but would it be that wrong even if it was? I don't mean that each and every closer relationship between men has to be somehow homoerotic, but it won't make the world collapse even if it was something more than just "brotherly/friendly love".
When I was twelve I met an old, old wizard-looking man with long white hair and beard. He told us he belived that we live many lives, perfecting our souls until we become Master Teachers and then we don't have to come back to earth unless we choose to, usually to help mankind in some higher way.
These were the things I knew as a tiny girl. No one ever told them to me. I just knew them.
To me he was the Wizard telling me to listen to the voice in my heart. The kindness and the -want-for-nothing attitude he had gave me a peace with myself that I am able to still tap into.
Thank you, Gandalf, for appearing to me in my lifetime. May all of you out there me your Wizard too.
If a brother can have a place in your heart, why not a friend? Nothin' homosexual about that, now is there?
So I think the song is about how you can meet someone who will capture your interest and someone you can have a drink with after so long without meeting any interesting people.
