When he is singing "alright" over and over, I get the feeling that he starts believing the lie... That everything will be alright, it'll be alright...its gonna be alright, alright... alright. Self fulfilling prophecy. I've listened to this song for so many years and I think that every single time. Its the comfort found through that repetition. Even if it isn't going to be alright.

the dead and eternal snow is the emptiness and the sadness that you get so bogged down in with depression. You can't see anything past it. The perfect spring is the other end, the light that people keep saying is at the end of this tunnel.
