Lyrics for Plug In Baby as interpreted by paulotheman

Plug In Baby Lyrics
I've exposed your lies, baby
The underneath is no big surprise
Now it's time for changing
And cleansing everything
To forget your love

My plug in baby
Crucifies my enemies
When I'm tired of giving
My plug in baby
In unbroken virgin realities
Is tired of living

Don’t confuse
Baby you're gonna lose
You’re own game
Change me
And place the envying
To forget your love

My plug in baby
Crucifies my enemies
When I'm tired of giving
My plug in baby
In unbroken virgin realities
Is tired of living

And I feel your loving,
Baby
And I’ve been in trouble

The meaning of the song is matt belamy's love for his guitar; how he can revel in something he's good at, sing in expression to the world if he doesn't like someone rather than saying it to their face. it lets him escape the world or 'crucify his enemies'.

It's set in the future when everything is electrical (even people, apparently). That's why he's singing about his 'plug in baby'

this is my song of 2001. the drumming and guitar before the chorus is truley apocolyptic. and the chorus itself freezes my spine and shatters it

the beggining notes are so cool, sounds like it could be played on a violin or something getting faster and faster. only as a guitarist can you know just how good a guitar player matt is

This song is about jacking off to internet porn... bare wiht me, in the into lines he has just finnished so its time for "Clensing Everything to forget your love" and the chorus is reminising on doing so, the plug in baby is a plug in girlfriend as in internet porn.
I do hope he reads this, thankyouplease.

"i think it's about a girl. She turns on and off her love for him very easily like a fan, or washing machine or vacuum cleaner or whatever shit. So he's saying that he's exposed her lies - he knows that she's just faking it - but at the same time he cannot bear to deal with the truth either. then she's tired of giving
so she's gonna stop
but like he wants to continue this... this... fake thing." -- Bobbin

I think this song is about Matt's guitar as Benfold'sfan mentioned. He is also talking about the digital generation and how we are headed towards a future in which everything can be plugged in and switched off. Maybe some gurl has been mean to him and he is using his guitar as escapism 'in unbroken virgin realities'... he doesn't want to face the truth without her..?
Actually, I did always think this song had sexual undertones to it though like some people up there mentioned, maybe he is talking about pornography??

Origin of Symmetry is the sexiest album ever.

I think this song has sexual overtones to it, much like the whole album.

Origin of Symmetry is easily the best album ever.

Seriously.

I agree with it being about the digital age and everything, but I also agree with it being about the internet porn thing. What seems to give me this idea is the very first line "I've exposed your lies baby" because sometimes you don't know who you're talkin to online, you know? But he's finally found out the truth and now "its time for changing and cleansing everything to forget your love" so he has to forget about this person(I'm assuming it would be a woman, or maybe he just thought it was a woman?) and move on with his life.

I really love the introduction to this song. As someone said above (Leviathon90), it does seem like it could be played on a violin getting faster and faster.

One of my favourite Muse songs. I think its only beaten by Hysteria which just freaks me out so much its starting to get fun.

Ciao for now.

This song has nothing to do with internet porn.

I do agree that it does have to do with matt's guitar, and as said before.. there was an article in a magazine where he described it on "how cool it would be if we could genetically engineer puppies to live forever". I don't think he was completely serious in the song meaning. I honestly believe it's more about the ability to overcome critics or his "enemies" with a simple plugging in of his guitar and tuning out reality.

You people out there who think its about internet pornography. Ugh! Muse are way to good to sing about pathetic things like that. In my opinion, its about his love for his guitar, Hence 'Plug In Baby'., and the 'digetal generation.
