Never made it as a wise man
I couldn't cut it as
A poor man stealing
Tired of living like a blind man
I'm sick of sight without
A sense of feeling
And this is how you remind me

This is how you remind me
Of what I really am
This is how you remind me
Of what I really am

It's not like you to say sorry
I was waiting on a different story
This time I'm mistaken
For handing you
A heart worth breaking
And I've been wrong
I've been down
Into the bottom of every bottle
These five words in my head
Scream
Are we having fun yet?

Yeah, yeah, yeah, no no
Yeah, yeah, yeah, no no

It's not like you didn't know that
I said I love you and
I swear I still do
And it must have been so bad
Cause living with him must have
Damn near killed you

And this is how you remind me
Of what I really am
This is how you remind me
Of what I really am

It's not like you to say sorry
I was waiting on a different story
This time I'm mistaken
For handing you
A heart worth breaking
And I've been wrong
I've been down
Into the bottom of every bottle
These five words in my head
Scream
Are we having fun yet?

Yeah, yeah, yet, no no
Yeah, yeah, yeah, no no
Yeah, yeah, yeah, no no
Yeah, yeah, yeah, no no

Never made it as a wise man
I couldn't cut it as
A poor man stealing
And this is how you remind me
This is how you remind me

This is how you remind me
Of what I really am
This is how you remind me
Of what I really am

It's not like you to say sorry
I was waiting on a different story
This time I'm mistaken
For handing you
A heart worth breaking
And I've been wrong
I've been down
Into the bottom of every bottle
These five words in my head
Scream
Are we having fun yet?

Yeah, yeah
Are we having fun yet?
Yeah, yeah
Are we having fun yet?
Yeah, yeah
Are we having fun yet?
Yeah, yeah, no, no

General Comment:It must've been 10 years since I first heard this song, back then I was a just a little kid who had absolutely no idea what Chad was on about I just liked the way it sounded.

Unfortunately I can relate to every single word of it now, I wish that wasn't the case but it is.

I made excuses, I was wrong, I handed her a heart worth breaking, I traded in my pride for a dysfunctional relationship. I've been down to the lowest depths of manhood. Are we having fun yet? YEAH YEAH ..(no no - the voice in the back of your head that you just refuse to listen to)

General Comment:This is one of those songs that has had a major impact on my life. I made a lot of mistakes in my 20's. I was living a really reckless life, and never really caring about the consequences. I also made bad choices in the people that I was hanging out with...I dated a LOT of the wrong ones...and a few of them saw my weakness, and exploited it...only to leave me miserable, and alone. As a guy in my early 30's...I have become more open to seeing the errors of my youth, and I wish I could relive those days with what I know now.

General Comment:''I never made it as a wise man'' <-- He didn't make good decisions. ''I couldn't cut it as a poor man stealing'' <-- She no longer feels sorry for him. Perhaps that also goes along with ''I've been to the bottom of every bottle'' (Drinking habit? Alcoholic?) and she's sick of him being drunk always. Alcohol could either be used by him as a way of dealing with their relationship failing, or the reason the relationship is failing. ''Tired of living like a blind man'' <-- He's not seeing obvious things, perhaps she's cheating on him (because he's an alcoholic and the relationship is failing?) and he either chose not to see it, or he's just now seeing it. ''I'm sick of sight without a sense of feeling'' <-- Their relationship is failing, they see each other, but they don't feel the love between them anymore. (Alcoholics drink to numb things, too, so he could just be merely 'existing' without feeling anything)''This is how you remind me'' Gosh, this could mean so many things.. but if we're continuing with the pattern, I'd say that she's somehow reminding him that he's an alcoholic.. what 'he really is'. Kind of obvious if you go on that path, my only problem is that the one verse ''It's not like you to say sorry, I was waiting on a different story, this time, I'm mistaken, for handing you a heart worth breaking''.. Not unless she's telling him this. Well.. that's one meaning of hundreds. Hope I helped. Of course, everyone sees it differently, so it's really what works for you. After all, that's the whole point of music, isn't it? To find your own meanings?

General Comment:I think that in every relationship between any two people, the interactions between them are only as complex as you are willing to look.

All this arguing about whether she wronged him or he wronged her is unnecessary, because it could easily go both ways. In a relationship neither partner is ever absolutely perfect.

This song is about how love is not always enough. They are/were in love with each other, but because of various logistical problems (she doesn't apologize when she's wrong about stuff, he's not enough of a man to "make it" regardless of what he attempts to do, whether it's a good thing or a bad thing, like a wise man or a thief.) stupid little logistical things, which cause them to fight so much that they're now at the point of breaking up, and it kills him because he still loves her but he just doesn't know how to make it work.

Of course this is all from his point of view, so it's not necessarily 100% accurate either. HE THINKS that she never apologizes, and he thinks that he wouldn't be able to cut it as a poor man stealin. That may or may not be true in objective terms, but it's the guy's reality, and he's the narrator.

I think that this is the underlying dynamic of their relationship. Anything else that you guys want to say would probably fit right in. Like maybe she's cheating or something like that. I'm not sure about that, but the specifics are open to interpretation.

General Comment:I always thought "I couldn't cut it as a poor man stealing" meant something more along the lines of "I didn't make bad decisions for the right reasons; I have no good excuse; I am not a martyr." And I interpreted "I've been wrong. I've been down into the bottom of every bottle" as "I've been depressed before and I've found ways to handle it" i.e. alcohol

General Comment:To me, this song is about a guy and a girl breaking up after being engaged/married where they fight a lot. He starts out by saying he was never really 'enough' for anyone. At the part "Sight without a sense of feeling", it's basically saying he's tired of going through the motions, it's all regular now, nothing really affects him, not arguments between them, nothing.

Then the next lines are basically saying it's not like his girl to say sorry, and he's expecting something different, but she does. I imagine this as the women packing up all her stuff, walking downstairs crying, and just saying sorry and leaving. Naturally, this would be how his heart gets broken.

When he asks if their having fun yet, it's probably because they got married, and realized overtime they didn't really love each other, and all their 'fun' they we're going to have has just fizzled out and DIED.

Then we go on, the next verse is basically about how he loves her, she knows it, and then he says sarcastically that it must have just killed her to be with him.
And uhh, then the chorus repeats :)

General Comment:I love this song i can relate to it alot. But i dont understand why everybody is fighting about it and saying how much nickleback sucks and chad is ugly, stop being childish and talk about the song and what it means.
Anyway i think this song his about his girlfriend who treated him like shit and hes tired of her crap and wants her out of his life. When he said " its not like you to say sorry" he means she would blame him for everything it was always his fault, she would never think it was her fault or say sorry.
I love this song and it reminds me of my ex bf.
