    My Opinion:Watching "That Metal Show" Sully stated that this song and Whatever is about someone that really pissed him off and the songs were a way to "exercise the anger", and he also stated that those that were in his wrath with these songs, he made "ammends to"...basically he stated that all his lyrics are based on something or someone that has happened in his life and he has to at times remember the place he was in when he wrote the lyrics so he can get the anger in his "growl" and afterward he feels better. It was really insightful, true musician that Sully!!!!

    General Comment:I see a lot of people were wondering what the singer, Sully, says before the duh - duh - duh - duh part...
    I know what he says because i am an audio engineer and i can isolate what he says and amplify it...

    what he says is:

    "Am I Still Alive?"
    "I Guess it's not my time"
    and the third set i can not understand...

    My Interpretation:Here's what I interpreted:

    He is struggling with his conscience/personality. While he lives socially, normally, friendly...something happens and he finds himself slipping into a state of mind where a part of himself is telling him

    it's similar to the demon on the shoulder.

    the last four statements are the moments of realization and commitment.

    Song Meaning:In my opinion it's about how people of this country need to wake up and realize how much we are being controlled by the Bilderberg Group, and their plan for a New World Order. Most people in their daily lives believe what they are told, fake it, don't question things, and "make believe that they're always happy." Right out of the lyrics! Godsmack is AWAKE, and they are shoving this song in the faces of all that are not! Think for yourselves people, don't be a sheep...
