Lyrics for Apple Shampoo as interpreted by ScreamingInfidelity

Apple Shampoo Lyrics
She didn't mean to deceive you, believe me
But sometimes the hardest part is conceiving

The good intentions that you had
Now only came to this
And although she saw the mark
The arrow missed

It isn't exciting reciting the stories
Of kind words turned hurting when routine get boring

Both getting tired of punk rock clubs
And both playing in punk rock bands
The start was something good
But some good things must end

And she said, "It could never survive
With such differing lives
One home, one out on tour again

We may never come back
The strike of a match
The candle's buring at both ends."

And now she knows too much
And I'm too fucked up
It's awkward trying to make my move

I'll pretend that I'm fine
Show up right on time
But I know I'll never be that cool

I never wanted to hold you back
I just wanted to hold on
But my chance is gone

I know / just where / I stand / a boy
Trapped in the body of a man and

I'll take what you're willing to give
And I'll teach myself to live
With a walk-on part of a background shot
From a movie I'm not in

She's so important
And I'm so retarded

And now I realize
I should have kissed you in L.A.
But I drove home all alone
As if I had a choice, anyway

Where are you coming from?
What are you running from?
Is it so hard to see?

And if you're feeling scared
Remember the time we shared
You know it meant everything (everything)
You know that it meant everything to me

You know that it meant everything to

did any of you actually listen to them then? geez well with this song i think its about gwen steffani. self explanitory. its a good song too dont get me wrong it could use better cord progression but back then tom wasnt that good yet =D and with new blink its exactly the same as the old stuff they just have better equipment making it sound clean. same cords in all their songs anyway. i mean look at reckless abandon, and the wendy clear.... SAME DANG SONG with different words!

Personally, i think the new blink shows growth as people and musicians. Lyrically the songs deal with the same ideas, therefore the only difference is the recording quality. Most punk bands don't have the money for the expensive equipment so blink sounds too clean for for hardcore punk rockers. However, they haven't changed that much, it just sounds better. But speaking of stealing music from yourself, the first guitar riff in online songs is the exact same as the first guitar riff in boring, and honestly online songs sounds better guitar wise.

yeah i totally agree. Blink style hasnt changed at all, but when they got a big record deal after dude ranch, enema of the state just seemed so more mainstream and i think its because of the better equipment. Thats really the only reason they sound so different, its because it really is clean. Old blink is good but i dunno i still really like some of the new stuff [off the newer cd, i didnt like enema]. BUt yeah this song! This song is great its a favorite of mine. I still wish i knew what the hell apple shampoo meant... but yeah Really good song.

Reslly? It's about Gwen Stefani. Thats one Blink factoid i didn't know.

Embrace the label and it will cease to be.

i heard wendy clear was about a woman in the record business and they couldn't date because it would jeopardize both of their careers.. "forget you job for just one day / i wish it didn't have to be so bad"
i htink i read it in an interview with mark, so unless he was BSin' us..
oh yeah, this song is great. i like the part about "never wanting to hold you back, but just wanting to hold on"

it's not about gwen stefani and neither is wendy clear...i don't know where you get gwen stefani from, she's not the only chick in a punk rock band..it's still one of their best songs though and the lyrics are awesome

I love the lyric "and I'll teach myself to live witha walk-on part of a background shot, from a movie i'm not in" and how it is saying that he feels like his role is meaningless and not there at all. That is probably my all time favorite Blink 182 line. And I'm not a new-emo-teeny bopper, I have been listening to Blink since I first heard M&M's. So don't get me wrong.

I just downloaded this song to day, and it was worth the 4 minute wait. This is one excellent song and album. Probably one of the best songs by them.

i've liked blink since "Dammit" came out but I hadn't heard this song till yesterday and its pretty good, not there best but pretty good nonetheless. I think its about tom (or mark or whom ever wrote it) trying to sustain a relationship while being on the road and being suddenly famous. Blink was good in Enema of the state but awful in Take Off Your Pants so equipment has nothing to do with it.

mark hoppus often says that this is hs favorite song that he's written. and i agree with him. i love this song. everytime i hear it i fall in love with it that much more. 'dude ranch' is my favorite blink record (if i had to choose one), and this is probably my favorite song off of it. anybody who's ever lost somebody that they cared about can totally relate to this song, including me. blink has helped me through a couple of tough situations in my life and i am forever in their debt because of that. thanks guys!

i think they have turned more mainstream b/c:

they play slower in half of their songs...

i mean they still play decently fast enuf in a few and plus idk it just loses somethin when tom can sing...lol (or get his voice enhanced)

but u cant blame em for changing, they mighta gotten bored playin a certain style for 2 albums
