Lyrics for Tv as interpreted by ScreamingInfidelity

Tv Lyrics
When I'm at work, ya, I always rush right home for lunch
So I can check out what's up on the Brady Bunch
And when I'm walking through the front door at night
I gotta see who's winning on The Price is Right, oh
I never dreamed that I'd spend my days
Staring at some tube emitting cathode rays
I need my TV

What's happening in this world, I don't care at all
But it better not pre-empt Monday Night Football
I can't even come up with my own views
I'm taught how to think from the evening news, oh

I never dreamed that I'd spend my days
Staring at some tube emitting cathode rays
I need my TV

La la la...

This song is about TV (duh) and how it's always on Mark's mind. He says that he never dreamed he would spend his days like this and that he needs his TV. At first I thought it was plainly just about how much this dude loves TV, but then I started thinking it's about how much time people waste just staring at a box all day, when they could be doing better shit like fucking starting a band or taking a walk ... something worth while ... makes ya think ...

"What's happening in this world, I don't care at all" I think that shows that there's a lot of irony in this song, and a critical message just like allstarme said

This is a pretty good song. I like the original Buddha version with that channel-clicking intro. Why didn't they include that on the re-release of Buddha?

I agree with the first comment made by AllStarMe, seems like just a funny song, but really just listen and read the lyrics. If you listen to Blink 182 alot you can see that alot of their songs sound funny, but they do have a purpose and a good message.
"I can't even come up with my own views /I'm taught how to think from the evening news"
Think about it ; alot of people believe what they hear on the news, but if you do some reading and crap, you can see that the media is wrong quite a bit of the time. As you can see in the last election, alot of people made up their minds according to what they heard on the news. Bush seriously isn't as great as people make him out to be. Read "Dude, Where's My Country?" By Michael Moore. Just do it.
Wow, I need to keep polotics and Music seperate

This song is great. Blink-182 is the best band out there. There really is noone better. With such a funny sence of humor, and serious on the other side, they basically play their own game. I really, REALLY hope they come out with another album... does anyone have anymore infomormation of that? Anyway, Blink, keep rockin.
