I might be wrong
I might be wrong
I could have sworn I saw a light coming on

I used to think
I used to think
There was no future left at all
I used to think

Start again begin again
Let's go down the waterfall
Think about the good times and never go back
Never go back

What would I do?
What would I do?
If I did not have you?

Open up, let me in
Let's go down the waterfall
Have ourselves a good time
It's nothing at all
Nothing at all
Nothing at all

    General Comment:Cliched, I know, but I think this is about a break-up.
I might be wrong: I was wrong, wrong person.
I could have sworn I saw a light coming on: He had hoped it would work
    I used to think: Obvious
There is no future left at all: Also obvious
Start again begin again: Should we try again?
    etc etc

Song Meaning:I think this song is about overcoming depression. He used to think that he didn't have a future but now he sees he does. It's about finally letting go of all the bad, living life in a good way and with a purpose and never wanting to come back to the dark times.

General Comment:I Might Be Wrong could be about holding onto a thread of hope. Thom Yorke sings, "I could have sworn I saw a light coming on" as if he caught a glimpse of hope. The light is personified and perhaps he is referring to a person for he later says, "What would I do? What would I do? If I did not have you?". But then Yorke admits that it could have been his imagination or false hope and admits, "I Might Be Wrong". He is being a realist and maintaining his feet on the ground because he does not want to be disillusioned when his hopes are shattered.

My Interpretation:I think this song has little or nothing to do with a relationship, either with a girl or a God.
I believe this song is highly acid and ironic.
He sings: "I might be wrong, I might be wrong, I could have sworn I saw a light... Coming on" He is beign sarcastic. Saying hmmm maybe things aren't that bad... but i might be wrong.
"I used to think there is no future left at all" Then again, sarcasm.
For me, the song is kind of an attack on people who live care-free and don't care too much, hence the title I Might Be Wrong.

General Comment:This song is about mindless hedonism, if the lyrics are interpreted as ironic / sarcastic. This is most obviously reflected in the chorus: 'Let's go down the waterfall / Think about the good times and never look back'. To me, the 'waterfall' is the stupid, mindless torrent of ignorant, hedonistic and disturbingly pleasurable bullshit that we immerse ourselves in. And obviously, thinking about the 'good times' and nothing else is rather ignorant - almost like using your happy memories to block out all the negative aspects of your existence.
'There is no future left at all', I think, can be interpreted as a standalone statement, without the 'I used to think before it'. Actually, there are two interpretations, the optimistic (which reflects happiness, possibly ignorance / hedonism etc), and the pessimistic: 'There is no future' as a lone declaration, followed by the line 'I used to think' - this person, just like all the idiotic, credulous, hedonistic masses today, has had their independence and autonomy sucked right out of them.
I guess the title sort of suggests an insecurity in this person with regard to their life, as if they are only doing all this waterfall bullshit because everyone else does.

My Interpretation:it seems to be about having a person that is hopeless and depressed finding a new perspective. Saw a light = flash, spark, and this raises the possibility of a future. This might be caused by having children and maybe "what would I do if I did not have you" is about wanting to believe in hope for the future for your children.

General Comment:The lyrics are so diffuse, you can't really interpret them correctly no matter how hard you try... it could be about romance, it could be about family, it could be about religion, who knows. Like one of the other posters said; Thom Yorke wanted it to have multiple meanings. Poets often f*** around with us like that! That being said, my logical side tells me it points more to the issue of atheism than anything else....

But to me, the lyrics make me think of my friends most of all :)

'I Might Be Wrong' is my favorite song in the whole world, by the way. Noe lie!

General Comment:Another variation on these lyrics:

    I might be wrong
    I might be wrong
    I could've sworn I saw a light coming on

    I used to think
    I used to think
There was no future left at all
    I used to think

    Open up, begin again
    Let's go down the waterfall
Think about the good times and never the bad
    Never the bad

    What would I do?
    What would I do?
If I did not have you

Open up and let me in
    Let's go down the waterfall
Have ourselves a good time, it's nothing at all
    It's nothing at all
    Nothing at all

    Never look back
    Never look back

General Comment:I think this song is about someone who left a past relationship for any reason, and then realized they want the old one back.

    Open up, begin again
    Let's go down the waterfall
Think about the good times and never look back
    Never look back

This sounds like the person is talking to his/her ex that he/she wants to return to. Kind of saying "let's forget I made this stupid choice and just think about the good times and start over."

    It's nothing at all
    It's nothing at all
    Nothing at all

Here, he/she is trying to say that his/her stupid past choices don't mean anything anymore.
