    General Comment:I love this song. as we all know by now, Radiohead manages to create different layers to its simple, yet extremely direct and powerful lyrics. this is my take on the meaning of this song and im well aware i can be wrong and misinformed! nevertheless.

    "Pyramid Song"
    sends us immediately to the Egyptian mythology. studies show today that the pyramids can create a vortex and can open portals into other dimensions and realities where the consciousness can travel through if one is present in it.

    "I jumped in the river, what did I see?"
    the 'river' referes to the river of life energy that the universe is made out of. out of body experience, crossing to different dimensions and realms of existence. floating through the river of information.

    "Black-eye angels swam with me."
    other entities which are part of that reality. malevolent (black-eye), benevolent (angels), ascended masters, other beings,
    or other characters from ancient Egyptian mythology, im still figuring out what Black-eyed angels are...

    "A moon full of stars and astral cars"
    "And all the figures i used to see"
    seeing and moving directly past celestial bodies as the consciousness roams freely in the universe. "figures i use to see" from Earth...the different constellations we can see at night. Orion, Andromeda, Sirius, etc...

    "All my lovers were there with me"
    the direct perception of the loved ones. the channels of communication and perception are opened due to the presence of love between. when love is felt it becomes universal. by jumping into the "river" you can access the experience/memory and emotions created.

    "All my past and futures"
    becoming one with universe, with the Divine creator, time stops existing the way we perceive it in the 3rd density. The past, present and the future become one present experience. the notion of Space-Time is replaced by Time-Space...

    "And we all went to heaven in a little row boat"
    In Egyptian mythology in the Book of the Dead, the soul upon death, has to journey into the afterlife and that trip was made by boat.

    "There was nothing to fear and nothing to doubt"
    the verse speaks for its self, after death, the soul merges with the great universal consciousness and returs home, remembering where it came from. "nothing to doubt" all becoming clear.

    General Comment:This seems to be the buddhist nirvana, losing one's identity, ego death. In that state you have no sense of personal perspective, and have not a personal worry in the world. Nothing to fear, nothing to doubt.

    This song seems to be a precursor to The King of Limbs, it has that emotionless feel which in a sense is a wonderful feeling when you get into it, but doesn't sound like good music when you're outside of that state. If you're an emotional wreck from a break-up, or breaking down in fear of death, this song will not appeal to you at the time. You can only appreciate this song when you have found peace, or are trying to find it. When you can get into that self-less state, this song is transcendental, it's wonderful.

    General Comment:I used to think this song was about committing suicide and the memories flashing before one's eyes. But now I understand it to be about ego death. People describe hypothermic incidents to be ones where their lives may flash before their eyes, but also ones where they have an out of body experience. At a moment like that where your experience becomes not that of your body but of pure awareness, the ego is seen as it can be truly defined: as another random configuration of sensory data. This moment in pyramid song is such a moment where time does not exist, past and future experiences aggregate into this one little vehicle, to where they sail off into nothingness/beyond. Fear and doubt have been eradicated at this point. Without ego, there is neither fear nor doubt. Well, as countless egos have come after me in blistering arguments, I am sure someone will gainfully propose that I am wrong. To those of you in the realm of ego-- investigate your own egos and what they do to protect themselves. seek to eradicate it, even in fleeting moments with success. It does you no good.

    My Opinion:The ash hung low, the skeletal remains of a cigarette, his long, blackened fingers holding the filter, while headlight shadows danced unconsidered on the wall. A half-drunk glass beside an empty bottle of cheap rum on the table beside him. Another lay on its side beneath his legs, a sticky pool evaporated beneath its lip. In the calignosity, the dirty razor sat motionless atop the filth encrusted demin. As it had been for aeons, the travail required to employ it was still too great.

    My Interpretation:my interpretation…although its not my final interpretation…

    i like what people have been saying about that greek mythological river, its supposed to be the boundary between earth and the underworld (says wikipedia)

    so i'm thinking, there is (and in the sense that as soon as your born you start dying) he starts flowing through life, encountering the evils of the world (black eyed angels)

    and then..im not entirely sure but im thinking for the moon full of stars and astral cars,maybe..referring to the cosmos/infinity he was apart of before being born (that whole net of being) and 'all the figures i used to see, maybe all the people or things he encountered before this life… <<
    and so now hes on a boat, in that same stream- saying he's accepted what life is and how there is more to come and hes infinite and now theres nothing to fear and nothing to doubt because hes accepting death and flowing down stream ^_^…and yeah i dont know the purpose of repeating it lots…because i didnt write the song!

    General Comment:Pyramids can be schemes. And Black eyed angels cannot possibly be angels of God. They are from Hell. He and his sins (all the lovers he may have used and/or abused) are the reason. His row boat is going down, not up, so to speak ;)
