Dirty, dirty fingernails
Dirty, dirty fingernails
Out of the shower, on to the bathroom floor
Out in the kitchen, underneath the casserole
Dirty, dirty fingernails
Dirty, dirty fingernails
(It takes a lot of energy to make that sound)
Out of the shower, on to the bathroom floor
Out in the kitchen, underneath the casserole
Out on the patio, out in the great outdoors

    General Comment:I love this song.
I think it's about the baggage we carry.
Like the stuff we can't seem to let go of kind of following us every where.
    but I don't know.

General Comment:I don't have the meaning for the lyrics, but I do know that a GOOD portion of them are missing. Same goes for "The Fruit that Ate Itself". Lots of mumbling and layered tracks that you can't understand clearly. I know that Wyoming is home to a lot of outdoorsy stuff like Yellowstone, and he does mention it at the end of the song. I suppose thats the only connection made so far for me, anyway...

I don't know exactly what he is saying, but heres a pretty good idea.

    dirty, dirty fingernails!
    dirty, dirty fingernails!
    (bathroom floor)

    out of the shower
    onto the bathroom floor
    out in the kitchen
    underneath the casserole

    dirty, dirty fingernails!
    dirty, dirty fingernails!

    out of the shower
    onto the bathroom floor
    out in the kitchen
    underneath the casserole
    dirty dirty fingernails

    dirty dirty fingernails
    dirty fingernails

dirty dirty, the sound of dirty nails
cellars are talking, turn to the walls(?)
their looking out of the shelves
(out of the shower, onto the bathroom floor)
takes a lot of energy to make that sound!
(out in the kitchen, underneath the casserole)
(out of the kitchen, onto the patio)
takes a lot of energy to make that sound!

    dirty, dirty fingernails!
    dirty, dirty fingernails!

    out of the shower
    onto the bathroom floor
    out in the kitchen
    underneath the casserole
    out on the patio
    out in the great outdoors

    dirty, dirty fingernails!
    dirty fingernails!

    i woke up in Wyoming
i woke up ________ of the morning

feel free to correct these. :)

My Interpretation:the thing that this song makes me think about that no one's mentioned yet is like when you know someone and some random little thing about them just bothers you to hell and you can't ignore it, so I always thought maybe he had like a roommate or something that always had dirty fingernails and he just couldn't stop focusing on it and freaking out about it in his mind, but he couldn't say anything about it cause then he would betray how much a ridiculous little thing bothered him

and I don't see why the little kid thing is so bad, maybe he hates little kids cause they always have dirty fingernails

General Comment:Its about a wife who cheats. Her fingernails are dirty from her affair, and they dont come clean in the shower afterwards. She brings her dirty fingernails, into her home with her family - she makes the supper, brings it out onto the patio. Everything seems fine but she still has dirty fingernails..

General Comment:Why is it that the backgroung vocals are never added to the lyrics? Especially when they are saying complete different things then the primary.

General Comment:Personally, whenever I listen to this song I think of a mouse running around someones house and then when Isaac says "It takes a lot of energy to make that sound" I think of either someone screaming from seeing it or the mouse squeaking. Does anyone else get that from it?

Think about it, running out of the shower into the kitchen hiding by a casserole dish and how it has dirty fingernails [because it's a rodent] and then it finally gets free "Out on the patio, out in the great outdoors"
