i've never heard modest mouse before and i don't know what they sound like (can anyone tell me?) they look good, lyrically. in kazaa it has them listed as punk/emo (which is what i like). what bands do they sound like?

modest mouse at times has reminded me of The Pixies, Built to Spill, and the Velvet Underground. if you do download tracks off kazaa lite, be sure to get Cowboy Dan, Neverending Math Equation, Heart Cooks Brain, and Gravity Rides Everything. if you're the sort to buy albums start with Lonesome Crowded West and then move onto The Moon and Antarctica. Building Something Out of Nothing is a good way to get aquainted with their earlier stuff.

You have never heard Bright Eyes!?!?!? OH MY GOD. Conor Oberst = Lyrical genius. Check them out immediately. Also check out Commander Venus. I've had Bright Eyes cd in my cd player for like 2 weeks straight. Yummy good stuff.

How could you talk shit about a pretty sunset? modest mouse is amazing. they are my #1 favorite band ever. I've never heard a single song by them that i didnt like. this song reminds me of high school. how guys and girls are so catty, that they could talk shit about a pretty sunset. how people dont even know themselves. god damn.

you use. lots. of periods. and. in the middle. of. sentences.


but yeah, this song is stellar. definitely on any top ten list i'll ever make. this song seriously does a fantastic job of painting a cynic. this is totally me at times, and probably totally you. haven't you ever just been in one of those moods where everything you see you feel like you have to take apart and mock?

this song reminds me of a scene from an episode of the simpsons where agnes and the comic book guy are sitting on a bench watching the sunset.

agnes says: thank god there's only one of these a day.
the comic book guy says: could it BE any more orange?
