It is getting away. As other people have said in the comments, just giving the fuck up. It is like having an argument, or failing at something and the moment, you realise that you cannot win. You are just fucked.

I really like that line, an obvious play on frosts "the path less traveled"

some see taking your own life as the easy way out (path of least resistance)
oh, and jeremiah green kicks ass.
"Gone fishing" is clearly saying that he's going insane, just like in Pink Floyd's "The Trial" the line "Toys in the attic, I am crazy, truely gone fishing.."
As far as "taking the path of least resistance" I'm thinking that he's not fighting it anymore..He's going mad and he's finally come to terms with it?
Then again..I may be totally in the wrong direction, but I think everyone will see what they wanna see in any lyrics.
