See this needle
Oh see my hand
Drop, drop, dropping it down
oh so gently
here it comes
touch the flame
Turn me up
won't turn you away

Spin, spin
spin the black circle
Spin, spin
spin the black, spin the black
Spin, spin
spin the black circle
Spin, spin
whoa

Pull it out
a paper sleeve
Oh my joy
only you deserve conceit
Oh I'm so big
and my whole world
I'd rather you
rather you, than her

Spin, spin
spin the black circle
Spin, spin
spin the black, spin the black
Spin, spin
spin the black circle
Spin, spin
whoa

Oh you're so warm
oh, the ritual
as I lay down your crooked arm

Spin, spin
spin the black circle
Spin, spin
spin the black, spin the black
Spin, spin
spin the black circle
Spin, spin

[Repeat: x5]
Spin the black

circle

Spin the black circle
Spin the black circle

    paper sleeve= vinyl case
needle= the needle thing they place on the vinyl
lay down your crooked arm= the bar that the 'needle' is attached to
id rather you than her= her might be reffering to a cd

General Comment:Thank god for this site, I thought this song sounded cool but I didn't think about what it could be about. I have a music addiction too :] It's better than drugs lol. I guess it's different but I'd rather you than her... ;D

General Comment:lol very interesting take on it, being about vinyl..

i always saw it as being about how dangerous and stupid drug addictions are..

if any1 knows their history, pirates back in the day received a black circle when they were going to be killed, making it a symbol for death.
i always thought by 'spin the black circle' he meant 'playing with death'

the line "i'd rather you...then her" to me meant the character of this song would rather do drugs than be with his girlfriend

perhaps, this song has double meanings

of course, then again (lol) 'pirates' is a bit of a ludicrous analogy, but maybe Eddie likes pirates

General Comment:The lyrics say "I'd rather you than her", that, together with the heroin/vinyl ambiguity, might be suggesting that he would rather be a "music addict" than a junkie.
