Lyrics for Bohemian Rhapsody as interpreted by kevin

Bohemian Rhapsody Lyrics
Is this the real life?
Is this just fantasy?
Caught in a landslide
No escape from reality
Open your eyes
Look up to the skies and see

I'm just a poor boy
I need no sympathy
Because I'm easy come, easy go
Little high, little low
Any way the wind blows
Doesn't really matter to me
To me

Mama, just killed a man
Put a gun against his head
Pulled my trigger now he's dead
Mama, life had just begun
But now I've gone and thrown it all away

Mama
Didn't mean to make you cry
If I'm not back again this time tomorrow
Carry on, carry on
As if nothing really matters

Too late, my time has come
Sends shivers down my spine
Body's aching all the time
Goodbye, everybody
I've got to go
Got to leave you all behind and face the truth
Mama
I don't want to die
I sometimes wish I'd never been born at all

I see a little silhouetto of a man
Scaramouche, Scaramouche
Will you do the Fandango?
Thunderbolt and lightning
Very, very frightening me
(Galileo) Galileo
(Galileo) Galileo
Galileo, figaro
Magnifico
I'm just a poor boy and nobody loves me
(He's just a poor boy from a poor family
Spare him his life from this monstrosity)
Easy come, easy go, will you let me go
Bismillah!
No, we will not let you go
(Let him go!)
Bismillah!
We will not let you go
(Let hime go!)
Bismillah!
We will not let you go
(Let me go!)
Will not let you go
(Let me go!)
No, no, no, no, no, no, no
Oh, mama mia, mama mia
Mama mia, let me go
Beelzebub has a devil put aside for me
For me
For me

So you think you can stone me and spit in my eye?
So you think you can love me and leave me to die?
Oh, baby
Can't do this to me, baby
Just got to get out
Just got to get right out of here

Nothing really matters
Anyone can see
Nothing really matters
Nothing really matters to me
Any way the wind blows

Thanks :)

Now see, I do find a couple of problems with the AIDS interpretation, though. First, not all the lines fit. I mean, what the hell is the Bismillah and Scaramouche for? I think mine clicks a bit nicer, but that's just me...many people like the AIDS interpretation...

...so who am I to doubt it ; )

Oh I sincerely doubt the AIDS interpretation. It is interesting, but like you say it really doesn't fit. That whole Bismillah stuff really kills it. I just thought it could kind of fit in those first few verses. I think you are right on Pkjun.
Thank you for the rational discussion. (take note Metaluna)

I think that this is one of those songs like "Stairway to Heaven"...No one knows what it means (not even the author), but it's still one of the best ever.

I think this song is about how Friedie's struggle. how it says "put a gun against his head, pulled the trigger now he's dead" is like how he told his dad that he had aids and how it "killed" his dad inside. also like in the beginning how it says "is this real life or is this just fantasy" is like him not in denial and feeling sorry"about himself. then as the song goes on he gets over it and tells everyone off who thinks of him as an outkast for. how he just wantsto live his life normally. that's what i think.

Oh, come on, Punker. Please. The AIDS fits okay for the beginning...but please explain Scaramouche, Bismillah, and the trial.

Feeb(le). How's that?

AIDS doesn't fit, period. It was released in 1975 - a good TEN YEARS before AIDS came into the public spotlight, and SIXTEEN YEARS before he died.

well. this is entertaining. i have heard on interviews freddy say that there is no real meaning besides a "trial" like the one that pkjun explained, and also that it was written as a filler for a concert - it was just pulled out of their asses at the last minute. i do like the interpretations, however, and some do fit very well.

Yeah, sure. The Beatles also claimed they had nothing to do with Paul is Dead, and that Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds has nothing to do with LSD. If Bohemian Rhapsody was written on the spot as a crap song, then Freddie is the greatest improvisationalist since Bach.

The themes (in music and lyrics), the imagery, the word choice...it's overall very impressively done. It might have just been done to sound cool (lord knows I've written far too much like that) and in doing so it lends itself to interpretation...but I like to think that somebody put a bit of work into it ;)

I was talking to my brother and I was just as puzzled as you guys on what this song could mean. I found out it was actually about the lead singer killing another man (although he never did that in real life!) and then confessing it to his mother >Mama just killed a man
Put a gun against his head Pulled my trigger now he's dead Mama, life had just begun But now I've gone and thrown it all away Mama<...the 3 different moods of the song are representing what he goes through after the murder. The 1st deals with his disbelief, being so astonished of what he just commited >Is this the real life? Is this just fantasy?< The second is confessing his sin to his mother, and the last (and probably most crazy!) is where he is harassed by the consequences of his actions. the names Scar-a-mouche, Bielzebub, and Bismillah are actually names of the 7 (or is it 9...i forget?) rumored devils there are. the word Fan-dan-go means dancing, which one of the devils does while the man is trapped in his sin. Bizmillah will not let him live not being in denial >Bismillah! No we will not let you go
(Let him go!) Bismillah! We will not let you go (Let hime go!)< ......I dunno, thats how i translated it. tell me if that makes much sense to you guys

No idea what this song means... But it's funny, I've always envisioned this song as like part of a musical. Haha. Even though you don't know what the story is... this song just seems to tell a story. It's like a wonderfully put together orchestral piece w/ all of these different movements. You can't tell me this song doesn't have movements! The constant change in mood (serious to ridiculously silly, for instance) is simply genius! I also think that this song is the one that compliments Freddie's voice the best. His voice is godlike... ever notice how he just floats up to those high notes and makes it seem so easy? His talent really "sends shivers down my spine." What an amazing band. What an amazing song! Definitely one of the best ever written!

I just had to say that the Beatles did not, in fact, do anything to instigate the entire Paul is Dead hoax - that perpetrated itself quite well on its own with the help of radio stations and rabid fans. Paul himself said "If I were dead, I'm sure I'd be the last to know."

As for Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds, John Lennon did, in fact, gather the title from a drawing that his son, Julian, made of his friend Lucy. This is backed up by interviews with both parties, as well as the actual drawing, which depicts - surprise - his friend Lucy, in the sky, with diamonds. The lyrics are pure Through The Looking Glass imagery.

Oh Jesus!!! I cant belive this ppl are so attached to the aids and Bo Rap idea... This could only happen with ppl who are not real Queen fans, and have no clue at all about the band and its history.... and are so blinded with morbid ideas and their narrow minds...
So plz, talk about what you know better, and it shows it isnt Queen related matters, obviously...
