i think this is about teh World War Two Battle Of Normandy. idk i think its the doorway of an american boat that carried abotu 20 men each to the Normandy Beach and the machineguns through the doorway are german machineguns. so many people died in that battle (thus, another one bites the dust". and fi you've seen saving private ryan the movie shows all the yojung boys crying for there mothers on the beach as they all get shot at. thus "There are plenty of ways that you can hurt a man

i think it's a good song... not my most favorite Queen song but definitely one of their best...
and i love it. :D

although when anybody mentions Queen, the first song that comes to mind is Bohemian Rapsody, but another one bites the dust is "queen's best selling and biggest hit to date..." at least according to several articles that i've read.
also initially roger and brian weren't too keen on this song but freddie believed in it. john got freddie's support so it happened.
i also read in an interview of john that he said michael jackson was their fan.. michael voted for this song so they released it as a single...
queen's amazing.. it's rare to find a song that has beat so recognizeable, that anybody can guess the title. we will rock u, under pressure, another one bites the dust... these songs rock!!

i guess the phenomenal success of this single prompted others to search for hidden meaning... if it's not this popular, i don't think anybody will bother playing it backwards or if they did, i don't think anybody will pay attention to it enough to find a message when it's played reversely.
i also think the video enhanced everyone's imagination and convinced more people that it has hidden meaning... freddie looks possitivelly menacing with his cap w/ horns...

i'm a God-fearing person and i love queen.. i certainly hope that whatever backward message it has was not placed deliberately and won't do any lasting damage to anybody who listened.

lol i tested the backwards marihuana myth.

I let 5 people hear it, NONE could make out any meaning. Then I let 7 more people hear it who I told before to look for fun to smoke marihuana.. 6 out 7 said they heared it. IT'S ALL bullshit, and psychological crap.

Backmasked messages arent supposed to be 100 percent clear and would be mere impossible to do.

To mackmask, first you'd have to record yourself saying "Its fun to smoke marijuana", then play it backwards, slow it down alot ot hear its correctly, then say words that sounds like the message in backwards, so when played forwards and reversed you get the message. And you cant really just record it, reverse and get the message, because everyones voice and pronounciation is different.

Either way, this doesnt mean it was put in the song purposly, and has just as much chance as being a coincidence then not being one

To me, this song has always been about a relationship. About the defiance needed to get involved romantically/sexually with someone.

How is that not love related? Plus, if we look at the rest of Queen's songs, they're about love/sex, aren't they?

Plus, the line I quoted has seemed to me to sum up quite perfectly how it feels to get dumped.

You're all wrong I'm afraid; the lyrics are inspired by the original Space Invaders arcade game - simple as that.

"Out of the doorway the bullets rip..." - moving out from behind the shield

"... to the sound of the beat" - remember how the game had that beat that got faster and faster in time with the missiles

"How do you think I'm going to get along
Without you when you're gone" - what will you do when you've finished the game ?

"You took me for everything that I had
And kicked me out on my own" - You've spent all your money on it & had to leave the arcade

"Another one bites the dust, and another one gone and another one gone etc ..." - well there were an awful lot of invaders on the screen

trust me when u listen 2 this song backwards it doesn't say "it's fun to smoke marijuana"it says "dust the bites one another".i born and is raised around classic rock music.so i have heard this song a thousand times.some of you need 2 no that people can go no the internet and change the lyrics of a song,even though it is illegal.they don't get caught for it.k?
