Lyrics for Another One Bites The Dust as interpreted by kevin

Another One Bites The Dust Lyrics
Steve walks warily down the street
With his brim pulled way down low
Ain't no sound but the sound of his feet
Machine guns ready to go

Are you ready hey are you ready for this?
Are you hanging on the edge of your seat?
Out of the doorway the bullets rip
To the sound of the beat yeah

Another one bites the dust
Another one bites the dust
And another one gone and another one gone
Another one bites the dust
Hey I'm gonna get you too
Another one bites the dust

How do you think I'm going to get along
Without you when you're gone
You took me for everything that I had
And kicked me out on my own

Are you happy are you satisfied?
How long can you stand the heat
Out of the doorway the bullets rip
To the sound of the beat look out

Another one bites the dust
Another one bites the dust
And another one gone and another one gone
Another one bites the dust
Hey I'm gonna get you too
Another one bites the dust

Hey
Oh take it - Bite the dust bite the dust
Hey Another one bites the dust
Another one bites the dust ow
Another one bites the dust he he
Another one bites the dust haaaa
Ooh shoot out

There are plenty of ways that you can hurt a man
And bring him to the ground
You can beat him
You can cheat him
You can treat him bad and leave him
When he's down
But I'm ready yes I'm ready for you
I'm standing on my own two feet
Out of the doorway the bullets rip
Repeating to the sound of the beat

Another one bites the dust
Another one bites the dust
And another one gone and another one gone
Another one bites the dust yeah
Hey I'm gonna get you too
Another one bites the dust
Shoot out

All of the ideas that it's about marijuana are ridiculous...even if it does sound like that when played backwards, it was probably coincidential. Plus the power of suggestion may have something to do with it. People say, "It sounds like, 'It's fun to smoke marijuana' when played backwards" so when you play it backwards, you're looking for that phrase...if you hadn't been told otherwise, it might not sound so much like it. I dunno, I haven't actually heard it played backwards, I might be wrong, but I don't think it's about marijuana. And besides, I've heard that song lots of times, and I don't think any more of marijuana than I did before!

Sorry, I like to rant...so anyway, the meaning...not too deep, it just sounds like it's about violence on the streets is some places and how so many people are dying and how awful it is. Since John Deacon doesn't write terrible complex songs, I don't think it's about marriage, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was: "There are plenty of ways that you can hurt a man
And bring him to the ground
You can beat him
You can cheat him
You can treat him bad and leave him
When he's down"

Just one question though...why do people think that so many Queen songs are a reference to Freddie's AIDS? A lot of these songs they think have to do with AIDS were a) written before Freddie new he had AIDS, b) written by another band member, or c) all of the above.

Ok, I'm done! :D

Look, anyone who has ever done backmasking knows it's bullshit, you can make your ears our to hear anything. The "it's fun to smoke marijuana" stuff was not put in on purpose.

Ok. I'd like to share some sort of physicians point of view. Spech in general is a wave of a specific amplitude and frequency, moving air and thus creating a, for human standards, sound. Vowels generally spoken are a constant wave of a specific frequency, amplitude and phase, while consonants are waves of different type woven together. No a vowel will sound the same backward masked, but in combination with consonants it may sound somehow like a different word spoken. So, except for some sarcastic comments about backward masking by iron maiden and such, most songs, reversed, will sound like _some_ strangely pronouncated words, not necessarly making any sense. Now give us a break.

We all have our different beliefs about backmasking but sometimes bands do use it because Aerosmith on Sweet Emotion says: Thank you Frank or F*** you Frank because there producer was dying and they wrote that backwards in it but as far as the lyrics our on they are nothing about Frank they are about Joe Perry's girlfriend- nothing to do with the secret message......

Anyway This songs ROCKS!!

This song and its baseline is heavily copied from Chic's "Goodtimes" which was a big hit a few years earlier.

The original lyrics by JOHN DEACON were about cowboys, biting the dust is a wild-west term. John said himself he was too embarrased to show the original demo to the band members, so he re-wrote it and this is what they got. Everyone liked it immediately.

"it's fun to smoke marijuana." Yes, when it's played backwards it says that. But when it's played forward, like when NORMAL PEOPLE listen to it, it's an awesome song about the hard-knock life. Quit wondering and philosohpising about hidden messages and just accept it at face value! CHRIST!!!

I have heard the song backwards and you know what I think it sound like-someone singing backwards. God, you people need to get a life. This song is, of course, great and when I listen to it I get the feeling of anger or revenge, like some woman has really hurt him and he is pissed off. But I have no real basis for that, just the feeling Iget from the song, so you can think whatever you want.

Do you know the chances of a clear sentence played backwards coming out as another clear sentence? Unless the sentence is a string of random vowels, I'd say about 1,000,000 to 1. Backwards speech sounds like Satanic messages because backwards speech is mostly gibberish, so it sounds like "speaking in tongues". For it to be that clear, it would need to be double-tracked somehow, and the nature of sounds tells us that then we would hear in the backround a weird phrase backwards, and when played backwards we would hear a clear sentence and ANOTHER weird phrase backwards. The power of suggestion is strong. Placebos, anyone?

In the Eighth grade my music teacher told us that there was a subliminal message in the song the said "you should smoke marijauna." None of use believed it to be possible but the next day my teacher brought an original copy of this song put the needle of the record player on the record and spun it backwards and when turned at the correct speed the whole class clearly heard "you should smoke marijauna". I am not lying and I am not saying tha Queen was trying to start some drug revolution. They could simply have done it as a joke but the fact is that the encoded message myth is true.

Thanks for the science lesson, Professor Rex ludeorum. But couldn't it be just a funny coincidence that the way he sings the words comes out sounding like something else backwards? Just a thought.

I think this song is about a divorce gone wrong as such "How do you think Im going to get along
Without you when you're gone
You took me for everything that I had
And kicked me out on my own" and also "You can beat him
You can CHEAT him
You can treat him bad and LEAVE HIM" so those clues lead me to believe that its about her husband going to kill her and kids.

ha I hav proof that they put "its fun to smoke marijuana" in on purpose. lisin to Headlong. at the end u cant figure out wut they r sayin. lisin to it backwards and it say headlong clear as day. this proves they knew how to do it and did it in their songs. to do this put the song on ur computer and turn it into a WAV file. to do this go to prferances or options and go to song type. make sure u change it to WAV. then covert ur song. go to sound recorder under acceseries and entertainment. then go to reverse. it works. try this wit Stairway to Heavon also
