Words like violence
Break the silence
Come crashing in
Into my little world
Painful to me
Pierce right through me
Can't you understand
Oh my little girl
All I ever wanted
All I ever needed
Is here in my arms
Words are very unnecessary
They can only do harm
Vows are spoken
To be broken
Feelings are intense
Words are trivial
Pleasures remain
So does the pain
Words are meaningless
And forgettable
All I ever wanted
All I ever needed
Is here in my arms
Words are very unnecessary
They can only do harm
Enjoy the silence

General Comment:Mike Shinoda's music video is excellent, brings out this kinda futuristic look.
It really adds another dimension beside obvious explanations that this song is about drugs or relationship

General Comment:It's about heroin. "All I ever wanted is here in my arms" says it all.

General Comment:I've always thought that the song is referring to that very specific moment right after making love, when there are intense feelings around, and for some people (mostly men) pillow talk is not only unnecessary, but can ruin the moment. That's just my two cents.

General Comment:This song really was the meaning as to what happened in a relationship. We got caught up with each other really fast and we were very passionate sexually. We even tried to stay apart for a while, it didn't work. Eventually it ended poorly and a whole lot of regrets followed.

My Interpretation:Well, considering this was made in the time of John Hughes film, i think this is meant to describe a moment when two people, possibly previously unaware of their mutual liking for one another ("all i ever wanted"), finally realize that they like each other and are now holding ("in my arms") each other. The moment in particular is beautiful and doesn't need words (="enjoy the silence").
    OR
This is about how a relationship will fail because of one's secret (leaving for another city, affair, etc.) and the person that he/she is hiding this from should enjoy "enjoy the silence" about him/her not knowing this devastating news....for now.

My Interpretation:For the longest time, my interpretation was that this was a song of SELF love, and it became a self-love anthem for me. I pictured a person literally embracing themselves. "All I ever needed is here in my arms". This sounded like being self-sufficient, and in control of one's own destiny, but mostly loving of the self.

General Comment:It means words can be harmful, and some play it whenever they are going to 'get even' by remaining silent. It's an "I'll Show You" stance that really gets old quickly. Some people are missing the noses on their faces yet they are too stubborn to ever admit it;) Goodnight; the fever and I are returning to bed after a very weird day online. Did I say WEIRD? Man, friggin' weird.
