Lyrics for Dirty Diana as interpreted by Mru007

Dirty Diana Lyrics
Oh no...
Oh no...
Oh no...

You'll never make me stay
So take your weight off of me
I know your every move
So won't you just let me be
I've been here times before
But I was too blind to see
That you seduce every man
This time you won't seduce me

She's saying that's ok
Hey baby do what you please
I have the stuff the you want
I am the thing that you need
She looked me deep in the eyes
She's touchin' me so to start
She says there's no turnin' back
She trapped me in her heart

Dirty Diana, nah
Dirty Diana, nah
Dirty Diana, no
Dirty Diana
Let me be!

Oh no...
Oh no...
Oh no...

She likes the boys in the band
She knows when they come to town
Every musician's fan after the
curtain comes down
She waits at backstage doors
For those who have prestige
Who promise fortune and fame
A life that's so carefree

She's says that's ok
Hey baby do what you want
I'll be your night lovin' thing
I'll be the freak you can taunt
And I don't care what you say
I want to go too far
I'll be your everything
If you make me a star

Dirty Diana, nah
Dirty Diana, nah
Dirty Diana, no
Dirty Diana...
Dirty Diana, nah
Dirty Diana, nah
Dirty Diana, nah
Dirty Diana, no
Dirty Diana...
Diana!
Diana!
Dirty Diana!
It's Dia...aa...aa...ana!

She said I have to go home
'Cause I'm real tired, you see
But I hate sleepin' alone
Why don't you come with me
I said my baby's at home
She's probably worried tonight
I didn't call on the phone to
Say that I'm alright

Diana walked up to me,
She said I'm all yours tonight
At that I ran to the phone
Sayin' baby I'm alright
I said but unlock the door.
Because I forgot the key.
She said he's not coming back
Because he's sleeping with me

Dirty Diana, nah
Dirty Diana, nah
Dirty Diana, nah
Dirty Diana, no
Dirty Diana, nah
Dirty Diana, nah
Dirty Diana, nah
Dirty Diana...
Come on!
Come on!
Come on!
Come on!

Songs about sleazy groupies always make for a good listen in my own opinion. And the video was just fun!

I think this song is MJ`s best ever! Its a very well written song and the music is outstanding!

The meaning is quite obvious.... about either an obsessed fan or just a dirty woman that will stop at nothing to get what she wants.

Michael Jackson is an amazing artist :-)

Whilst it may have been disrespectful for him to call the late princess Diana a 'right dirty scrutter', I highly doubt that she's going to mind....

I think it might be about groupies, or it might be a Lou Reed style commentary on the dangers of some type of drugs, especially ones that are freely offered to the 'pop star scene', such as cocaine. Just a thought!

this is one of the most powerful songs i've ever heard.
and i really don't think is about the princess or diana ross at all.
i always thought it's about those sleezy women who would do anything... but ANYTHING to get the best in life, with no values whatsoever...
the name Diana is there because it just fits (it's called alliteration b-) )... or it may be a personal meaning to all of it...
anyways, michael jackson is a genius:)

oh, and i forgot to say about the fury i feel in this song...
feels like he's hating himself for being so weak in front of her...uhm... charms :D
and he's hating her for being the woman she is, trying to controll everything with her body... and especially not being all his... ("every musician's fan after the curtains come down")

While this is one of my favorite MJ songs, I do have to admit the timing of both song and video struck me as highly hilarious. Had he come out with DD during his Off The Wall or even Thriller time frame, he'd have had every hot-blooded female alive between the ages of 13-80 buying it. But, c'mon folks, at the time Bad was released, his face was already starting to slide, and, in the words of the great Kat Williams, "When was the last time he was in a relationship YOU believed? Don't worry, I'll wait!" I'd have had an easier time believing him singing this song when he was still touring with his brothers!

And, even funnier, the guitar solo! When he ripped off his shirt I almost died laughing. I'll always love Michael, but c'mon, when he ripped away his T-shirt the poor thing looked like a Cornish game hen! It helps to have a chest if you're going to attempt to show it off like that.

I know I'm going to get flamed for this, but I'm really NOT MJ bashing. He'll always be the greatest in my book. Just I thought this was rather funny, and I get a chuckle out of it every time I watch the vid.

Even though I've known this song for years, it still surprises me, after I haven't heard it for a while.
IMO it’s one of Michael’s most powerful songs. It is emotional, dramatic and has so many levels in it.
At times it’s almost like it’s an intercourse.
In Michael there is sweet misery and at the same time his soul is tortured.
He sings it with such a pain and fragility.
There’s even regret detectable in his voice, which leads to desperation by the end.
You can actually feel just how sorry he is, that he meet Dirty Diana, because she's ruining his life.
But she’s like a drug and he can’t escape, nor quit her.
Man, Michael… I know how you feel, dude…

This is totally my favorite MJ song. Micheal achieved his musical status because he realized that popular music and pop culture reflected the times and changed with the day. When this song came out rock and HAIR music seemed to be the trend and MJ really worked it within his style and made the rock trend applicable to his brand.

This IS about Princess Diana. She was a HUGE fan of Off The Wall and Thriller. I'm pretty sure this song is off of Bad. Micheal found out about Diana's feelings about his music and he choose to write a song for her. Unfortunately the man who realized so much about music didn't understand how to flatter a woman properly... When writing the song he chose a concept to which he had written about before (Billie Jean) and also something he experienced with his brothers growing up in their band.

Diana was not flattered by the song. She felt degraded by the concept of HER being a low groupiee. Can you blame her? Micheal apologized and it was all with good intention.

I think this is my favorite song by MJ. It reflects more of the musical styles that I listen to and I also do appreciate the sexiness of the song. I think the song itself is underrated and I do agree that the music video STINKS.

I also don't think the lyrics posted here are correct. I'm just not hearing some of these lyrics?

like what xxsxi-sarahxx . its a fact that this song is not about princesss diana. but he chose that name randomly about a dirty girl which went with every man. he was gonna sing this for one of his concerts but when he found out that princess diana would come he took it off the setlist, but he later found out that princess diana thought that this song was a favourite of hers. thats it !! RIP MJ

This song was NOT about Princess Di! Rather it says something about his relationship w/ Diana Ross-- she was very seductive and mature and he was totally infatuated w/ her for many, many years(read his autobiography). For whatever reason they couldn't work it out (age, family, religion, ?) he was totally heartbroken when she married someone else. I think he wrote this after/during that phase of his life-- he put his hurt and desire for her into this song. It's what he fantasized her doing or being...

I freakin' love this song, don't think i've clapped my beady eyes on the video. Probably have done in past years on MTV but i'm not too sure. I'm a girl, and a friend of mine can be such a groupie to any hot 'rocker' available, kida reminds me of her and the times i've had guys lower themselves just to get what they want from me. x.x; I remember the time when girls used to faint at the name Michael Jackson, I wasnt one of them cuz I respected his music. <3
