Lyrics for Guerilla Radio as interpreted by piesupreme

Guerilla Radio Lyrics
Transmission third world war third round
A decade of the weapon of sound above ground
No shelter if youre looking for shade
I lick shots at the brutal charade
As the polls close like a casket
On truth devoured
Silent play in the shadow of power
A spectacle monopolized
The cameras eyes on choice disguised
Was it cast for the mass who burn and toil?
Or for the vultures who thirst for blood and oil?
Yes a spectacle monopolized
They hold the reins, stole your eyes
All the fistagons the bullets and bombs
Who stuff the banks
Who staff the party ranks
More for Gore or the son of a drug lord
None of the above fuck it cut the cord

Lights out guerilla Radio
Turn that shit up

Contact I highjacked the frequencies
Blockin the beltway
Move on DC
Way past the days of bombin MCs
Sound off Mumia guan be free
Who gottem yo check the federal file
All you pen devils know the trial was vile
Army of pigs try to silence my style
Off em all out that box its my radio dial

Lights out guerilla Radio
Turn that shit up

It has to start somewhere
It has to start sometime
What better place than here
What better time than nowAll hell cant stop us now
All hell cant stop us nowAll hell cant stop us now
All hell cant stop us now
All hell cant stop us now
All hell cant stop us now

rage werent politicians. sure, they sang about important global issues, but what did they actually do about them? and sure, you can sit there and agree with what theyre saying and congradulate them for being ballsy enough to say it, but what are you doing about it? i like rages music a lot, but actions speak louder than words, and im only hearing lots of words from the band and fans alike. raising awareness does count for something, but pratice what you preach.

I think Rage was an awsome band. They really have made many people aware of problems and issues that affect our government today. As for what they have done other than speak out about the issues is actually participate. Two people come to mind...Leonard Peltier, and Mumia Abu-Jamal. Rage has held benefits to help free them, as they were unfairly placed in jail. Rage has recognized this and has tried to do something about it. They've done many other things to...by listening to their music and learning what their lyrics mean, I have become interested in taking action, and I am sure they have had the same affect on many other people.

5) "March Of Conscience" against sweatshop labor
(Morello Arrested)

6) Zack de la Rocha before a full session of the International Commission of Human Rights of the United Nations on the case of Abu-Jamal

7) Timmy C, Brad Wilk and Tom Morello from Rage Against the Machine participate in the protest against the Free Trade Area of the Americas

Hmm...you are all idiots. First of all, Tom Morello is the greatest fucking guitarist to play in a while, especially on the radio. He's up there with Tim Mahoney, crafting the most energizing riffs of the 20th century (21st now, and I know Rage broke up but I'm sure Tom still plays his guitar), the best rhythm guitar ever, and wailing on it every now and then. I named Tim Mahoney (of 311, duh) because they both play in genre-bending funk bands, and they both write awesome guitar music that complements rapping perfectly, while also being great soloists.

Second...Rage are definitely not politicians, and will be remembered second for their lyrics. THey will be remembered the most for writing such funky music(not weird, I mean actual "funk"), rocking grooves, and a rhythm section that is so dead-on and tight it could squeeze out a damned diamond in a week. Just because they write music that rocks, grooves, and is easy to remember, doesn't mean they should be chastised for it. The best bands are the ones you remember after you hear them, and with hooks like these, they're never leaving my mind

a politican is someone who is actively engaged in politics, and from what rage fan posted, no one can say that there was no action behind their words.
not only has ratm made me more politically aware, but they have inspired me to start doing social justice work in my community.
i think u brought up some really good points PJ10, but u should look more into who ur lecturing before you point your finger at them. ya...but power to ya with the hunger thing :)
any moron can be ballsy, but it takes a lot more to practice what you preach.

IRollerblade, the song is copyrighted by Epic Records. What the gaming companies (Activision, Neversoft, Playstation, Sega, etc.) did was ask Epic Records for their permission to use the song. Rage Against The Machine probably had no say in the matter (they signed the contract that gave Epic Records the rightful ownership of the song). What Epic Records' choice was, was not necessarily the band's choice. As Epic had copyrighted the work, they had the ability to let the gaming companies use it (Title 17, Chapter 1, Section 106 of Copyrighting) without Rage's consent.

I suggest you research your thoughts before you blurt them out. as Michael said, "They didn't sell out."

whoops. i apologize for not paying attention to that fact,
rage-fan2002. good point. however, doesnt licensing their song to a big label make them sell outs?

thanks for recognizing the point Irollerbalde, and yes I can see to a certain extent how you think they are sell outs, but think of it as this...If they didn't license to Epic, we would have never heard their music, thus many of us would have never woken up to realize whats going on around us.

this so called ``selling out´´ is bullshit ok, when peolpe say stuff like oh sellouts and corprate bastards its stupid cuz record labels wont just sign any musician they try to find out what bands they think will sell and make profits, do u honestly think a record label will sign a contract with a something they think people will not like or will not sell no, ok then its just an opinion of mine

Yes, okay The battle of........ is ratm's worst album but it's only bad compared to their previous albums. Second of all how could a ratm sell out their the exact opposite of what a band that has "sold out" sounds like. Also it should not even matter if the mass media thinks that a band has sold out, you yourself should know better. For people whining about actual godd bands "selling out" (SOAD, NIN, TOOL, A PERFECT CIRCLE) should listen to Hooker with a penis by TOOL.

dude I just came on to find out that the song isn't described here.......its a battle between NOTHINGFACE and friends.

Here's my opinion: NOTHINGFACE is full of shit and he listens to punk to feel anti-establishment when he is really probably pledging allegiance right now. NO ONE CAN TRY TO TELL ME THAT THE WORLD IS FULL OF ANTI-ESTABLISHMENT PUNK BANDS WHEN BLINK 182 IS THE BIGGEST PUNK SHIT OUT THERE SINGING ABOUT THEIR BONERS AND ORGASMS.

and secondly NOTHINGFACE...............................how fucking bored are you if you talked back to everyone who goddamn challenged your authority on this site........MY WEEK GEEK has it all right....you are sharing your damn musical opinions on this site about how their all average-sorry, fairly good-musicians when its a site about realizing song messages! Go read about the Zapatistas or Mumia abu Jamal....then maybe this band will mean more to you than the shit you've laid down here on this site.

Mkay... after going throw many a post on this page, I've decided to add something here. 1) I agree with some of NothingFace's ideas and opinions, although, I just think there are some different punk bands, that's why there's different FORMS of punk. What about AFI? Or emo bands, which personally I think are a bit.... eh, repeative too, but like Dashboard, Taking back Sunday, etc. and maybe some other punk bands have non-anti establishment songs... the Riddlin Kids, Lagwagon... but then again, there are MANY punk bands out there that sing about how the government sucks... The Distillers, Propaghandi, Against All Authority, Anti-Flag, Bad Religion, Pennywise, NoFX.. No story really is one sided, but singing about that kinda stuff has become a trend in punk, and isn't punk about lack of trends? 2) Blink 182? Don't you dare ever ever call them punk! They used to be, but that's a long time ago. That's right kids, they sold out. Now they're just annoying immature guys with lip rings, making fun of pop, something they're slowly driving themselves towards. hmm.. I thought I had more to say... Aw well, that's all for now.

blink-182 were never punk, always were pop-punk, just became more poppier when they exploded onto MTV. Tom Morello is an extremely talented and innovative guitarist before he came around i had no clue you could do some of the things he does with guitar. its ingenius! did you know that he used to practice up to 8 hours a day, straight in his dorm room at Harvard, now thats fucking determination!
The Fuck Authority theme has always been present in anti-establishment bands but recently has been made more popular in the punk world thanks to Pennywise's excellent anti-establishment anthem...uh well..."FUCK AUTHORITY". do yourselves a favour and go download. Punk in drublic is right no story is one-sided, punk isnt about fuck authority it is about finding better solutions to a problem, and by saying fuck authority, punk bands are trying to say that there is a social problem and it needs to be fixed. thanks.

If you don't like the USA get the fuck out of our country instead of bitchin' instead of trying to change things.
I always think its funny that when people run away to freedom they wash up on AMERICAN shores.
We dont have a perfect country or soceity but i rather be here than Iraq

hahahahaha. oh by the way, i don't listen to punk.
I like how all of you tell me how wrong my opinions are, and use your opinions as some sort of evidence against me. i don't know how you're going to survive in the world if you can't stand the thought of someone having a different opinion than you. zapatas and mumia jamal can suck my ballsack, and so can rage for that matter. i don't give a fuck about their message or their politics. if they want to follow that ideology, that's fine with me, but don't expect me to swallow all that bullshit.

Damn people are dumb as hell. The only reason the US is better than countries like Iraq is because all the other countries in the world have learned to blindly follow in American footsteps and when someone speaks out against the US they get bombed and killed. And that gives you no reason to follow the government blindly and support blind patriotism. On another note, I like this song and I like Rage. The new project Audioslave doesn't sound nearly as good though, Chris Cornell just has a fucking annoying voice now. NOTE - THESE ARE ALL JUST MY OPINIONS, DONT FUCKING GO OFF ON ME ABOUT THEM. Yeah, so im gonna stop now, later people who hate each other and wont stop arguing about a pointless topic.
