Lyrics for Guerilla Radio as interpreted by piesupreme

Guerilla Radio Lyrics
Transmission third world war third round
A decade of the weapon of sound above ground
No shelter if youre looking for shade
I lick shots at the brutal charade
As the polls close like a casket
On truth devoured
Silent play in the shadow of power
A spectacle monopolized
The cameras eyes on choice disguised
Was it cast for the mass who burn and toil?
Or for the vultures who thirst for blood and oil?
Yes a spectacle monopolized
They hold the reins, stole your eyes
All the fistagons the bullets and bombs
Who stuff the banks
Who staff the party ranks
More for Gore or the son of a drug lord
None of the above fuck it cut the cord

Lights out guerilla Radio
Turn that shit up

Contact I highjacked the frequencies
Blockin the beltway
Move on DC
Way past the days of bombin MCs
Sound off Mumia guan be free
Who gottem yo check the federal file
All you pen devils know the trial was vile
Army of pigs try to silence my style
Off em all out that box its my radio dial

Lights out guerilla Radio
Turn that shit up

It has to start somewhere
It has to start sometime
What better place than here
What better time than nowAll hell cant stop us now
All hell cant stop us nowAll hell cant stop us now
All hell cant stop us now
All hell cant stop us now
All hell cant stop us now

I, for one, agree with Nothingface. Rage WAS good on their self-titled album, but they got worse on Battle of Los Angeles. They're still better than a whole load of other bands, but they're also worse than a number of bands. They've descended into mediocrity. Not all the songs sound the same, but they're similar enough that I can see where one could make that comment. Can people not tolerate others' opinions these days? I think we all need to give Nothingface more credit for voicing his opinion despite the offense everyone has obviously taken from it. This music you're defending is supposed to preach non-conformity and freedom, but all you're doing by squelching a rebelling opinion is opposing those very objectives. Are you not attempting to make people conform and take away their freedom? Think about it. Really.

Apparently no one but Nothingface knows what an opinion is either. *shakes head* I can only tolerate so much of stupid people.

i agree.... nothingface, you should be able to state your opinions, but you dont have to defend them people are only here to state their ideas about the music, there isnt any reason to argue. And I think rage was a popular band and that gives them the right to play however the fuck they feel like, thats just my opinion.

i agree that i shouldn't HAVE to defend my opinions. this site is SUPPOSED to be about stating your opinions. but when my opinions are attacked (which they were), i have the right to defend myself. in fact, i feel obligated to explain myself when someone questions me. if i can't do that, my opinion means jack shit.

I just now looked at this site and, in particular this page. I agree with Nothingface in that he should not have to defend his opinions. This site is a good forum for people to state what they feel and not be condemned by everyone else. But when you do have to defend your opinion against attackers it would be much more productive to do it intelligently instead of having no more substance than a barrage of Fuck You's. Now, with that out of the way. Rage Against the Machine is my favorite band, bar none. I do not believe that they became worse with each album and I was very upset when they broke up. As for this song, I agree the first comment that this is about using music to fuel a revolution.

Jeezus, people. Remember, this is an area for posting what you think is the meaning of the song. I agree with nothingface, but perhaps we could stick to the fucking subject here, hmm? I mean, 34 posts and about 6 of them are actually about the song. I know I'm kind of contributing to that, but oh well.

nothing face you are correct. this site is about opinions, and you are entitled to them. people who attack others for holding certain opinions are closeminded. and that ilikemusic kid is absolutely stupid for saying that nothingface hasnt been posting opinions. when you say something that dumb, it negates every smart thing you just said. and yah, cool stuff.

god lets please stop this stupid bickering, i have been to too may lyric pages where it turns into stupid ass name calling like this. Please stay on topic and allow people to have thier own opinions.

and i love RATM, you want a bad album, go get renagades and leave the los angeles alone. I support RATM simply because they speak out, not only in thier music but activly and politically.

this song is about using guerilla tactics to get your point across one such tactic is guerilla radio.

bdm56, i thought i did more than respond with a "barrage of fuck yous", but i suppose the tremendous use of vulgarity i used could make it seem that way. anyway, i'll state my opinion one more time, just so none of you get confused. rage used to be good. they got progressively worse with each album, and now they suck. that is my opinion, like it or not. i do admit that they have much more substance than a lot of bands out there, because they actually get involved in political issues. but that doesn't make their music good.

Nothingface, I wasnt directing that comment to you alone. I just, like many others on this site, get tired of everything boiling down to a back and forth I'm right and your wrong argument. I said that I agreed with you that your opinion is just that and it shouldnt be questioned, so I'm sorry if you took that the wrong way. Now if anyone has anything to say about the SONG it would be greatly appreciated.

I liked RAGE about a year ago and have since then gone into punk andi can honestly say that not all punk bands are "fuck authority" but a good number of them are.... just thought i would also say this song is really good and does anyone else feel pissed off with the rapping at one point but then goes into another phase of really liking it?

this is hands down the funniest thing that i've ever read in my entire life. it's like a handfull of fith graders with tunnel vision all went out, got computers and dictionaries, and started hitting people with 'em. to say more about it would be an exercise in futility. now my last point is for my own personal clarification. by any one of us disputing the validity of nothingface's attempt at organized thought, isn't that our oppinion that he's wrong?

so because i don't agree with all of you that makes my thoughts unorganized? it's one thing to disagree with my opinion, it's a completely different thing to attack it. if you want to disagree with me, i could give a fuck less.

Hey, give nothingface555 a friggin' break! all he's doing is expressing his opinions here, isn't that what we're supposed to do? If youre just gonna tear into people who have different opinions from you, then what the fuck kind of RATM fans are you?

ok, the point here is to state opinions about the song. we all know that. so whatever you guys are arguing about, let's curve it back to the music. nothingface shouldn't have to be defending himself here, this is an open forum, of course opinions are going to clash. that's how this works. he's not wrong, the people disputing him aren't wrong, it's all opinion. let it go. yeah, you know that. anyway, back to the music. i agree with the statement that the guitar work gets a bit frustrating sometimes. take the overly played song "wake up." i mean, wow, that's like two notes there at the beginning, but yes, it still sounded good. a lot of tom's stuff sounds good. it's not about being technical, it's also about finding a sound you like, even if it takes the mentality of a first year guitar student. yeah, the rapping can get annoying to, but i go into phases of likeing it, and then hating it. RATM is a good band in the fact that they are involved with their musical views both politicaly and socially. they follow the crowd of anti-conformists, the machine of society, but it does seem that anti-conformity is sort of conformist these days anyway. RATM is a band you can love and hate. take the good old stuff and some of the ideas from the new stuff, and you can see that they a good group of artists coming together with a common view. that's what makes a band work. i like that. they're incredible. that's my opinion. i don't worship them and they aren't even on my top 50 list of favorite bands, but hey, they have good motivation. again, that's my opinion. later.

RATM arent entertainers, they're politicians (well atleast they were until they split...uh hem) Entertainment is a crucial part of American culture and a dependancy for many Americans. We need it to ignore the internal problems that are tearing down our country. Injustice disappears if you just turn up the TV. Since our country revolves around this selfish culture, what better way to wake people up than to get inside their radios?
