Mom won't know
Run out the back door
He's passed out on the floor
Third time
Been caught twice
Forgive our neighbor Bob
I think he humped the dog

But good things come to those who wait
'Cause she laid me
And mom and dad possess the key
Instant slavery
No need explain the plan
No need to even bother
I'll pack my bags, I swear I'll run
Wish my friends were twenty-one

White lies
Bloodshot eyes
Breath of alcohol
Stole it from the mall
How's Chris
Marked with lipstick
Better call their fathers
Sleeping with your daughters

But good things come to those who wait
'Cause she laid me
And mom and dad possess the key
Instant slavery
No need explain the plan
No need to even bother
I'll pack my bags, I swear I'll run
Wish my friends were twenty-one

You don't belong
You left the kids to carry on
You planned their fall
Too bad you're wrong
Don't need a mom dad slave drive song
I time bomb
I time bomb
I time bomb
I time bomb
I time bomb

Turn low
The radio
I think I hear my dad
Yelling at the band

But good things come to those who wait
'Cause she laid me
And mom and dad possess the key
Instant slavery
No need explain the plan
No need to even bother
I'll pack my bags, I swear I'll run
Wish my friends were twenty-one

You don't belong
You left the kids to carry on
You planned their fall
Too bad you're wrong
Don't need a mom dad slave drive song
I time bomb
I time bomb
I time bomb
I time bomb
I time bomb
I time bomb
I time bomb
I time bomb
I time bomb

Don't you just love the morons who get a rush out of making negative comments about bands just to piss off loyal fans? This one's for you bitterbrian, my name is also Brian and you disgrace my name. bitterbrian is probably the kinda guy who talks about how bad blink is just because they are popular and then raves about how awesome this band is that nobody has heard about. Well my friend, there is a reason why they are popular...

Get off the this lyric page if you think they suck so much, and take all your arrogant little friends with you.

Actually, it's about growing up in a shithole where no one cares about you or what you do until you're drunk and then you're just instantly grounded. Good work, Frat boy.

Jiwwy has kinda got it. It's about a kid who THINKS he is being smart and doing what he wants. But really the parents dont care that much and the kid aint that clever. He gets caught anyhow and punished with no thought. I have a friend like this.

1979, sorry, but youre wrong. i say an interview, and tom said that its about when there was a huge party, and they were playing there, and some people got into a fight, and there was blood all over the place, and everybody had to pitch in and help clean up, before the parents came home, so blinky, you almost got it.

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/
