I seriously love this song. Anyone who actually read the lyrics can tell that its a tale of depression followed by the light at the end of the tunnel. I feel bad for the people who misinterpreted it and unfortunatly committed suicide but that doesnt take away from the songs merit. Also, just a note to "Trust in Him" how can you possibly have a name like that and be so cold and heartless. If "Trust in Him" is a religous hint like I think it is then how could you be so profane and cruel. O Well its not like you'll even care anyway.

i agree with orange tommorow and rainbow8711. this song is so awesome and for all you people who say bad stuff about it are dumb. i doubt youve even read the lyrics and actually thought about it. this song has so much meaning. its sad though how people have commited suicide to it...honestly i dont get why people do it. i would be scared id miss something funny that happened after i killed myself. i guess i just greatly appreciate that i was put on this earth by someone who loves me. this song helps me get through tuff times. thanks blink 182 for pulling me through.

this song is very sad at one point in time i had 3 funerals to go to 2 on a saturday and 1 on the sunday after that and all of them were my friends who kill themselves and i had seen one of them right in front of me... this song hurts to listen to... but i still got to say its good

This song is really sad at the beginning but all the time when I'm feeling sad, either I go to this song or "Good Riddance" (Green Day, DUH) because they all end on a positive note. And in reply to everyones comments about Blink 182 being pop and crap, I'll admit Blink 182 is not the best band ever. They have good lyrics, catchy, simple to play tunes for guitarists (that's me!), and they're funny. I don't care if they're pop. If you go with a lot of other people and call them pop and like them just because of that, aren't you pop because you are going with the MAINSTREAM and putting them down? Like them, and don't give a shit what anyone else says. :-)

OK EVERYONE IS WRONG! I KNOW MARK HAS SAID ITS ABOUT SUICIDE AND STUFF AND AT FIRST THE LYRICS READ THAT WAY BUT THEY ARE ACTUALLY JUST MISLEADING. WHEN MARK WROTE THIS SONG, HE DID PUT A SUICIDE TWIST ON IT BUT THATS NOT REALLY WHAT ITS ABOUT. THIS IS WHAT THIS SONG IS ACTUALLY ABOUT.......... OK. AS MOST OF YOU SHOULD KNOW, BLINK 182 HAD AN OLD DRUMMER NAMED SCOTT. THE REASON WHY SCOTT LEFT THE BAND IS BECAUSE MUSIC ENDED UP BEING THE WRONG CAREER FOR HIM. WHEN SCOTT USED TO TOUR WITH BLINK, HE WOULD START MISSING HOME AND HE BEGAN GETTING DEPRESSED. IN RESULT, HE DIDN'T GET ALONG WELL WITH MARK AND TOM WHILE THEY WERE ON TOUR. THIS WAS BREAKING THE BAND APART AND THERE HAD TO BE A CHANGE. AS WE ALL KNOW... SCOTT LEFT BLINK TO FULLFIL OTHER PARTS OF HIS LIFE. HE WAS TOO DEPRESSED DURING THE TOURS AND COULDN'T TAKE BEING AWAY FROM HOME FOR THAT LONG. THIS WAS JUST WHAT HE HAD TO DO........ THIS SONG IS WRITTEN FROM SCOTT'S PERSPECTIVE. IT IS DESCRIBING HOW HE FELT WHILE ON TOUR. "DIEING" IN THE SONG IS JUST A METAPHOR ABOUT HIM LEAVING BLINK BEHIND. JUST READ THE LYRICS AND YOU'LL KNOW HOW ITS REALLY ABOUT SCOTT. ROYAL HIGH i think its great you've really thought about the meaning of the song but i have read interviews and they said its about a kid called adam who emailed them before committing suicide cuz he liked their music so they did this song in his memory. i did for a while almost believe your theory but then what's this got to do with a band member...

i know this song is old, and it's obvious what it's about. i just wanted to state that regardless of wether blink 182 is a "pop" band or not, this song is still amazing. i read the comments above, and was disgusted to see that more than one person commented on people with depression being stupid. fuck everyone of you that says that or thinks that. this song got me through some damn hard times that i could not control, and depression is a serious thing. and it's assholes like you who make people with depression want to kill themselves. so seriously people, grow up. people have problems, and life is tough, not everyone can be happy, so be sensitive about it. and for those of you who, like myself, can very much relate to this song...never forget the true meaning. HEy, bak 2 royalhigh, i heard that SCOTT left coz his mum was sick or sumthin? there are soo many different sources as 2 where blink got their inspiration to write this damn fine song. i really dont give a shit whether blink has apparently gone "pop" or not, i'm still gong to keep on listening to their music, wateva category they're in. i really cant wait till boxcar racer comes out either! i heard it was fuckin awesome and i do believe that if tom's playin guitar and doin tha vocals then it will fuckin kick ass - he's such a legend - i jus wanna let u all know that blink 182 r one of the best bands to keep it real 4 well ova 10 years and 2 me, they will stil b Numba 1 till tha day i die. keep it alive +<>+
