Lyrics for Money as interpreted by Demau Senae

Money Lyrics
Money, get away
get a good job with more pay and you're O.K.
money, it's a gas
grab that cash with both hands and make a stash
new car, caviar, four star daydream
think I'll buy me a football team

Money, get back
I'm alright, Jack, keep your hands off my stack
money, it's a hit
don't give me that do goody good bullshit
I'm in the hi-fidelity first class travelling set
and I think I need a Lear jet

Money, it's a crime
share it fairlybut don't take a slice of my pie
money, so they say
is the root of all evil today
but if you ask for a rise it's no surprise that they're
giving none away, away, away

sound familiar? (Other than the lyrics to Money)
When the teacher reads Pink's poem aloud to embarrass him in the Wall movie! Funny really

Obviously it is about the addictive powers of money. The worship of money. And the all encompassing green eyed monster. What I love about Pink Floyd is that they can write about such fundamental human flaws without seeming pretentious or self important. They aren't trying to give any answers on DSOTM or act like they are above any of these things. They are just highlighting some of our problems as we go through life. And invite us to think about them. That is why this album is so damn good.

Money is a very good song. Less deep than other Pink Floyd, but amazing none the less amazing. Pretty much summing it up, "I wanna be rich"

Is it just me, or did Pink say the line "I'm alright, Jack, keep your hands off my stack" in a poem in the Wall (Video) (this is off the top of my head)

This song reminds me of my father. He cares about very little more then his money. He was a wonderful daddy growing up, let me tell you. I appreciated all the wonderful things he said to me: how pathetic, stupid, crazy, ugly, horrible... etc. I was. He wouldn't let me go off to a good college and when I went on a few college visits with him he told me how I didn't belong there. Lovely man... now he will rot in his mansion with his black girlfriend getting high... good for you! Over Christams he told me I was nuts for reading philosophy books and then proceeded to ask me if I would be Nikki the topless waitress @ his cardparty... I don't think he was kidding. This song just really embodies him... He told me that the three most important things to him in life are: Getting his 'rocks' off, spending money, and believing in God just so that he can get himself into heaven. Lovely!

**I'm not a racist... I am just mad that my father is dating a 25 year-old who is black and he used to be very racist. I think he's doing it to piss my mom off.

Sounds kinda like they're robbing some place lol.

But this is a great song.

I grew up on Floyd.

My dads name is Floyd too.
lol.

Where did they get their name?

This is really the only Floyd song I like. 'Another Brick In The Wall' was overplayed, and their other stuff is too slow.

The Song is great, and the Sax is great. Roger has said that when he wrote this song he was trying to decide what to do with all of his money. Now that he had lot's of money would he still be true to his socialist roots.

To be honest this song doesn't belong on the album. But as for the lyrics, they are sarcastic, or in other words he is speaking for someone else. (originally i thought he was a greedy spoiled rockstar talking about how much money he has)

This song is one of the best songs to ever come out of Pink Floyd, between Roger's bass line, Richard's sax solo (RIP) and Gilmoure's guitar solo that follows it, you just can't help but love it.

I think the song meaning is saying that a lot of people use their money for the wrong things just because they can and they WILL. I think it's also saying that no one's willing to share money, and money resembles a person's personality.

The real meaning of this song's saying that you can only know a person by how much money they have, and how much money a person will have is how much they're actually worth.

The coolest Pink Floyd song ever. I cant stop playing it its got a real groove to it. The guitar solo is fucking exceptional like most Pink Floyd solos. The reason people hate the sax is because it is very in your face and dominates a lot of the song.

I think that after you boil it all down, this song is talking about baseline human greed. Money just happens to be the medium that this greed is portrayed through.

I think this song, when you boil it all down, deals with basic human greed. Money just happens to be the medium through which this greed is portrayed. It could probably deal with a number of other things.

The best line is "share it fairly, but don't take a slice of my pie".

You hear people all the time complaining about inequality but when it comes down to it, you can bet they really think along this line.
