Lyrics for Breathe as interpreted by Demau Senae

Breathe Lyrics
Breathe, breathe in the air
don't be afraid to care
leave but don't leave me
look around, choose your own ground
for long you live and high you fly
and smiles you'll give and tears you'll cry
and all your touch and all you see
is all your life will ever be

Run rabbit run
dig that hole, forget the sun
and when at last the work is down
don't sit down, it's time to dig another one
for long you live and high you fly
but only if you ride the tide
and balanced on the biggest wave
you race towards an early grave

To me the album Dark Side of the Moon is a story of life. It begins with a heartbeat and ends with the heartbeat that stops. Brethe, being the first song, means the first breath of air after being born. The rest of the song talks about all the shit you'll do in your life, which gets explained later in the album..

More clearly, the album Dark Side of the Moon is a concept album which tells of the factors within everyday life that drives a person to insanity.

Agree with Soma, the song ends with a feeling of "whatever you do, you are getting closer to death"
Each song of the album tries to analyse and depict different aspects of life.

Does anyone know what the song "On the Run" is supposed to be about? I only bring it up here because they didn't put in on the list since it has no lyrics. Someone told me its about a guy running through an airport to catch his plane, which luckily he misses because it crashes at the end. Any comments, please?

I think it's just in there to fit with the whole Wizard of Oz connection. They say Roger always wanted to do the entire soundtrack for a movie. I guess he just picked one and went with it.

I think The Dark Side Of The Moon is about a compressed moment of epiphany experienced during a roller coaster ride .Before the music starts you can hear a click-click sound like the anti-rollback mechanism of a roller coaster when it is ascending a lift hill, followed by the sound of ecstatic screaming...And then, o boy, we lapse into the world of The Dark Side Of The Moon and philosophical ecstasy.
This is consistent with the heartbeats;anybody who's ever ridden a coaster knows how the heart jackhammers just before and after a fall.

Paradox, Pink Floyd already did a movie soundtrack prior to DSotM...twice. Obscured by Clouds and More. Also, I think this song is about birth. A new man is born, but right from the beginning he is taught what the world is really about and that hard work is the key to life, that you must work and work and work, like how are workaholic society is.

The song On the Run is all about a man who is paranoid. It is not the first time that Roger Waters has used the term "On The Run" to explain paranoia. He also used it in the lyrics to one two free four ( not on the list). Paranoia is also part of life which is the whole concept of this album(as said above). It is also based loosely on that other grat artist Roger "Syd" Barrett as too is Wish you Were Here.
Hope this helps you all.

This song means "appreciate life" basically. Floyd's saying breathe in the air, enjoy what humans were meant to enjoy as intelligent beings. Leave, break away from monotony and typicality, but dont leave or forget your loved ones at the same time. Look around and find your own ground, path, existence.
Too many people get caught up digging holes one after another, it's almost senseless. Ride the wave, but if you concentrate on getting the biggest wave you'll miss out on life and eventually get an early grave. Enjoy existence, because after you're time is up, all your life has been are those laughs and tears, touches and sights, your memory man.

Does anyone know what the first guy at the very beginning of the song says? The first thing he says is "I've been mad for fucking years, absolutely years" I can't make out the rest.

I made the mistake(?) of listening to this entire album (like I do almost every day) right as my hardest trip ever hit me. I basically felt insane and scitsofrenic for what seemed like a lifetime. There is no doubt that this album is about insanity but to me, this album is a warning that we are all not far enough from our point of insanity.

In the beginning of the album there is the sound of a rollercoaster ascending. I believe this is aluding to the strage feeling of anxiety and elevation right before a drug like acid will kick in, then when the song switches to Breathe it is the beginning of the trip.

A thing I noticed which baffled me is, he sings "It's time to dig another one" But in the leaflet that comes with the album, it says the lyric is "It's time to start another one." I don't know if this either a typo on the lyrics booklet, or if they changed the lyrics after the leaflets had been printed. If someone knows the answer as to why it is like this, I would like to know please.

When i tripped out , i thought he was kind of speaking to me. Breathe, relax, don't be scared and enjoy well you can. But it defenetlyy makes sence that this album is about life and the things in life thhat drive you to insanity. Key evedence to this suggestion is the the song Money

to me it means even though your work is never done until you are with life its so hard to just keep breathing but at the same time impossible to just stop breathing. but then its so relaxing and flowy and u can listen to it while u r doing anything... so its kindof like the flow of life and how its just the way things go. people die while u r alive and its a flow, but a change in flow, and things happen as another change in flow... and moves on till it all comes crashing down in your last few breaths while it isn't flowy anymore.

and then like its... like brain damage said... about birth... only it seems to be a warning to a new born baby about life and how it flows through as long as you are breathing

THE WIZARD OF OZ..... I WATCHED IT.. IT ALL CONNECTS !! I WAS SO FREAKED OUT.. EVEN THE LITTLE MUNCHKINS WERE DANCING TO THE BEAT OF MONEY!!!!!! ARHHHHHHHH HOW!?!!! At the start... "balanced on the biggest wave, race towards an early grave" Dorothy is walking along the pig pen then falls in... "homeee home again, i like to be here when i can" is when she returns from the krystal ball guy back home. "the lunatic is on the grass..." is where scarecrow gets let off his stake and is squirming around on the grass patch. And alot of other things... WIERDDD!!!

WIZARD OF OZ CONNECTION TO DARK SIDE OF THE MOON IS TRUE!!! ARHHHH! If you play the 2 at the same time....
at the start "balanced on the biggest wave" dorothy is walking along the fence of the pig pen... "you race towards an early grave" She falls in. "home, home again" is when she returns home after running away with the mutt. As the bells and chimes ring in one of the songs..... she first walks out into the colourfulworld of munchkin land!!!! its really really wierd... i found all of the munchkins to be dancing to the wierd beat of money!!! NO WAY! i dont think thats where it came from .. but SHIT! "the lunatic is on the grass" is where scarecrow gets freed from the stake and is lying on the grass. And at the end THIS IS THE REALLY WIERD BIT.... THe famous ending Heartbeat is when Tinman first gets found ... HEARTLESS!! i was stunned i thought pinkfloyd had reasons for everything... THEY STILL ROCK! YEAaAAA!
