Lyrics for Bike as interpreted by Demau Senae

Bike Lyrics
I've got a bike, you can ride if you like
it's got a basket, a bell that rings
and things to make it look good
I'd give it to you if I could
but I borrowed it
You're the kind of girl
that fits in with my world
I'll give you anything, everything
if you want thing
I've got a cloak, it's a bit of a joke
there's a tear up the front, it's red and black
I've had it for months
if you think it gould look good
then I guess it should
I know a mouse and he hasn't got a house
I don't know why I call him Gerald
He's getting rather old but he's a good mouse
I've got a clan of gingerbread men
here a man, there a man, lots of gingerbread men
take a couple if you wish, they're on the dish
I know a room of musical tunes
Some rhyme, some ching, most of them are clockwork
let's go into the other room and make them work

This song is awsome. According to Roger "For its time it was so British." This is Syd Barrett at his greatest or worst how ever you look at it.

This song is just so funny. I love it for it's quirkiness and uniqueness. It really seems to have not much of a point whatsoever, except for perhaps the chorus. The chorus really does not fit, but I love it still. In short...good funny song.

hmm...seems tool doesnt have much of a respect for the free spirited nature that PF had in their music...
now the question, when does it stop being genius and when does it start being creepy?

This is one of my favourite early-floyd songs. ToolRulz, go to hell you fool this song is great. Don't even bother talking about Pink Floyd if you can't even appreciate the originality and freedom of art.

I laughed out loud at this
"yeah ok your an idiot too halflife.who the hell do u think you are?A fucking genious? "
You can't even spell the word.

I find that Tool's music is quite influenced by the Floyd, and that you can't really judge a band's music on the actions of one somewhat moronic fan.

About Bike, I believe it was written/recorded somewhat later than the other songs on "Piper at the Gates of Dawn", and that Syd was already creeping into insanity at the time it was written. Great song, though, in its own way.

it's about a Man who is trying to get laid!, look at the last verse, let's go into the other room and make them work. come on, Syd, this is a late 60's, British, "booty call" song!

The actual lyrics for the last verse is:

I know a room of musical tunes,
Some rhyme, some ching, most of them are clockwork,
Lets go into the other room and make them work.

Sorry, I just had to correct that.

And this song rules. You can't be a true Pink Floyd fan and hate this song.

If Syd had a meaning to this song, then he's very good at covering this up. The only clue I kinda have is that a friend of mine once told me that the part about Gerald the mouse is about Germans. That does seem kinda plausible since Germans were called Gerries.

First of, Tool is my favorite band, Pink Floyd follow a close second. "ToolRulz" is the kind of person Tool does NOT want following them. Tool are heavily influenced by Pink Floyd, it is rumoured that three songs off of their new album: "Disposition", "Reflection" and "Triad", were meant to be one song and that song was supposed to mirror or even "echo" Pink Floyd's epic masterpiece "Echoes".

Second, this is one of my favorite early-Pink Floyd songs. It's just so light hearted and eerily happy. Barret at his best.

You were the one to say that the first two people who liked the song were morons.
"i dont think anyone likes people telling them what they should like."

I think ToolRulz and everyone else are both right. This song is good, but only for a slightly odd and humorous song that you shouldn't bother trying to find the meaning of because it doesnt exist. By this time, Syd Barrett had taken so much acid his brain almost had completely gone. They tried several shows with him, but after recording Jugband Blues, they just stopped picking him up for practices.
And yousaidpunksucks, you might not want to say that, a lot of people hate certain songs and like others and still be true fans. For instance, I bet you don't like Several Species of Small Furry Animals Gathered Together In A Cave and Grooving With A Pict. But no Pink Floyd fan hates that song!

Basically, everyone has the unalienable right to speak their opinion and not get punished (yelled at, etc.) for it, and most of you broke that. I'm not saying ToolRulz is Jesus Christ or anything, though, he does insult an awful lot. ToolRulz, swears/insults don't make you sound any smarter

its just sorta cute -- the guy is sorta shy, and he doesn't have much to offer to the girl, so he's all... "you wanna ride this bike?" and like "...maybe you want this mouse?"
