Lyrics for Black or White as interpreted by Mru007

Black or White Lyrics
Ow!
Ow!

I took my baby on a Saturday bang
Boy is that girl with you?
Yes we're one and the same

Now I believe in miracles
And a miracle has happened tonight
Hee!

But
If
You're thinkin about my baby
It don't matter if you're
Black or white
Ooh!

They print my message in the Saturday Sun
I had to tell them I ain't second to none

And I told about equality
And it's true
Either you're wrong or you're right
Hee!

But
If
You're thinkin about my baby
It don't matter if you're
Black or white
Hee!
Hee-hee!

I am tired of this devil
I am tired of this stuff
I am tired of this business
Girl when the going gets rough
I ain't scared of your brother
I ain't scared of no sheets
I ain't scared of nobody
Girl when the going gets mean

Protection
For gangs clubs and nations
Causing grief in human relations
It's a turf war
On a global scale
I'd rather hear both sides of the tale
See it's not about races
Just places
Faces
Where your blood comes from
It's where your space is
I've seen the bright get duller
I'm not gonna spend my life being a color

Don't tell me you agree with me
When I saw you kicking dirt in my eye
Hee-hee!

But
If
You're thinkin about my baby
It don't matter if you're
Black or white

I said
If you're thinkin of being my baby
It don't matter if you're
Black or white

I said
If you're thinkin of being my brother
It don't matter if you're
Black or white

Ooh ooh
Yeah yeah yeah now
Ooh ooh
Yeah yeah yeah now
All right

It's black
It's white
It's tough for you to get by
Yeah yeah yeah now
It's black
It's white
Whoo!

It's black
It's white
It's tough for you to get by
Yeah yeah yeah now
It's black
It's white
Whoo!

I used to like Michael Jackson. I highly anticipated his "Dangerous" album when it cam out, but this song changed my opinion. The lyrics have a good message... we should accept people for who they are, not what they look like or where they're from... but really, I can't stand listening to the music! Part of it is angry, part is light-hearted. There's no continuity! Oh, and I don't need to say anything about the lame video, do I?

well in the beginning of the song he says "But if
you're thinkin about my baby it don't matter if you're
black or white" It's half and half because he's saying I don't care who u r, I'll beat u if u touch my girl. He wanted to include the race issue too because it is and will be a big topic, and yes his whole ordeal as well. At least I'm assuming, I don't actually know but that always explained it for me...

i don't think this song makes sense, because he's saying he doesn't care whether it's black or white, and it's obvious he prefers white, because he bleached himself white!

"I took my baby on a Saturday bang"
Apparently, Wacko Jacko Wackos Offo in his Babies Moutho.......what?
Seriously though, the song is about Micheal's sexual attraction to his firstborn son.
Sorry, just trying to lighten the mood. Obviously you haven't read the lyrics, because IT DOSEN'T MATTER IF YOUR BLACK OR WHITE, so why the hell are all of you arguing over the pigment of his skin! Most of you (HAIL ME, gurl123, Jessie Lynn, MUSIC MACHINE) would be better off hiding your identity under a white bedsheet while protesting the Harlem GlobeTrotters and spoonfeeding Strom Thurmond...
Shame on you...I hope you are forced to collect Elton John's stool sample with nothing but a straw...

Well, I think the primary intent of the lyrics of this song are to cause controversy and promote debate about Michael, who was really getting weird and fascinating at the time of its release; an act of self-promotion. But as with Michael, there is always a subtext to the lyrics that are relevant to his psychology if you know what I mean, and I think the song is really about desperately wanting a child, and saying I don't care if it's black or white. It isn't about him, its about his potential children. This is something I always suspected, and the whole Martin Bashir thing kind of confirmed it to me. 'Blankets mother is black.' Yeh, OK Michael... Still think he's the media genius of our age though. Total respect.

"i think u r all lame he wrote it 4 other reasons look it up he is black with virtigo yes he tried to smooth it out with bleach but u wouldn't know any thing about Michael cuz ur coming up w/ lame shit it"

Are you sure you don't mean Vitiligo? Hmm? Don't think you can cure Vertigo with bleach. MJ is a bit of a joke these days, but this song was from when he was still pretty cool. I wish people would stop looking at his "freakishness" and concentrate on his music. Oh wait, maybe they do. That's why he's not popular any more cos his music's gone down the pan. The last good one he had that I liked was You Are Not Alone, and when was that? Like 1997 or something? The only reason he keeps going is so one day he can get an award for being in music for however many decades, when actually his new stuff doesn't even count. Fantastic in his time, but not any more.

Great and great video. Even though he is a strange guy now, he was a great performer. I rather care about his music than his personal life. I love watching his videos, but sometimes I wish the old michael Jackson never changed! He should have stopped around the time the "black and white" video was made, as far as changing his appearance goes. Poor guy..but yea..great song!

I like the song...but I'm very confused about the opening, with the kid listening to music. Is it something about the theme of the album?

I just the whole black ans white theme. . .i love the music and beat. It's one of my favorite pop songs of all time. Some of the lyrics are good, and yeah racial injustice is cruel, blahblah blah I just like the feel of it.
