Michael Jackson is my hero, idol, and inspiration. He said once in an interview that this song was about him and his brothers' experiences with so-called "groupies" on the road on tour. He says Billie Jean is not one specific girl but just generally about all the girls who claimed their kid belonged to one of the Jackson boys.

anna - yes, they're very similar, but not exactly the same. It's like with the 'Under Pressure' vs 'Ice Ice Baby' argument - If you listen close enough you can see the vague disimilar beat :)

Wow this is probably one of my favorite MJ songs. I love the beat of it, it gets you moving. Yeah now he's probably a little weird but you can't stop loving his music!! :)

Now as i comment on the song rather than the artist- by the way michael jackson is the greatest and u kno b4 1993 you were probably dancing to his music just like everyone else.... he says billie jean over and over cause thats the name of the song, michael is not gay nor a freak, and if i had the kind of money he did i would be chillin wiht my own amusement park like he did-minus the whole molestation charges..... you must have forgot, cause i saw billie jean video the other day, and he was pretty fine back in his day. Finally, this song is tight, so i give it 4 out of 5 stars.

Funny, by what I heard when listening to the song I always thought that the first verse was after he and Billie Jean had already "danced on the floor in the round", and that the basic setting for that verse was that he was somewhere with someone else. I also though "schemes and plans" in that one verse was actually something about "her sweet semblance", but go figure. Anyway, awesome song, awesome artist. We're going to play this song at the school talent show this year, should be interesting.

I don't know what to think about Micheal Jackson, guys weird, but I did grow up with his songs. This one will be a classic 80's song. Whoever asked what kind of name Billie Jean is...you had to grow up in the 80's to understand names like Billie, Mickie, Torrie, Tiffani...the list goes on, blame it one the hippies and their fun kid names.
