Lyrics for Dumpweed as interpreted by piesupreme

Dumpweed Lyrics
Its understood, I said it many ways
Too scared to run, Im too scared to stay
I said Id leave, but I could never leave her
And if I did, you know Id never cheat her
But this I ask, its what i want to know
How would you feel if I should choose to go
Another guy, you think itd be unlikely
Another guy, you think hed want to fight me

Shes a dove, shes a fuckin nightmare
Unpredictable, it was my mistake to stay here
On the go and its way too late to play
I need a girl that I can train

I heard it once, Im sure I heard it twice
My dad used to give me all of his advice
He would say you got to turn your back and run now
Come on son, you havent got a chance now

Shes a dove, shes a fuckin nightmare
Unpredictable, it was my mistake to stay here
On the go and its way too late to play
I need a girl that I can train

I need a girl that I can train
I need a girl that I can train
Turn your back and run now
You havent got a chance now

Ahaha.. to anyone who says this song is sexist: You're a giant fucking tool. No one would be saying a thing if a female musician wrote the line "I need a guy that I can train." This is coming from a female. Live a little.

Guys, take it easy. There's no real interpretation here, this is a band that got famous by writing songs about dicks and having sex with dogs. Yes, the line 'I need a girl that I can train' is sexist out of context, but it's Blink-182. It's a fucking joke, part of a fun song that's made by perhaps not the most talented band ever, but a fun one to listen to. A little perspective, please.

hehehe you guys are funny arguing and bashing bands. Live and let live. If you like Blink, listen to them. I personally wouldnt consider them punk, because they sing songs about girls and sound poppy, but i still like them.
As for the song - about getting to involved with a girl before you really get to know her well enough, and then youre in too deep and its hard to leave her, but you have to. As for the dog part, just a little comedic relief as in most other songs on this album.

It's not sexist, it's something a lot of people feel. I bet you've probably wished that you could make your gf/bf do certain things, just as humans make dogs learn to pee outside. It's not comparing women to dogs, it's wishing that he could make relationships easier.

Its kinda funny that people think "I need a girl that I can train" is sexist. Really, it goes both ways; there are guys AND girls that "train" their partners (in a relationship) to do or not do things. Society also "trains" us to do certain things. For instance, society trains us to open the door for people.

Anyway, this song is pretty sweet. I think Enema of the State is my favorite album from blink182.

My interpretation is that this song is about drugs. Now wait! You're saying, "Jeeze MacKay, how could this be about drugs, Idiot." Well it would make perfect sence actually. The title of the song is calle "Dumpweed". Get it? "Dump Weed"? "To scared to run, I'm to scared to stay"Could mean that you it may make you feel good, but you may pay for it later (Disease etc). "I said I'd leave, I could never leave her" Can't leave Mary jane, because he's got an addiction."Unpredictable it was my mistake to stay here". Sometimes you get high or a bad paranoia type high. "I need a girl that I can train" This could mean he wants a really girl that he can train, this could just be a sorta joke, but kinda sexist."I heard it once, Im sure I heard it twice
My dad used to give me all of his advice
He would say you got to turn your back and run now
Come on son, you havent got a chance now"
He's telling his son that Marijuana is good for nothing and you should just quit right away, there's no chance of succsess". That's just my interpretation, Tell me what you think :).

I feel that this song couldn't more perfectly describe my relationship with my ex girlfriend. If you want to know our relationship...listen to this song. What is truly unbelievable is that...for no reason at all, other than pure coincidence, I heard it for the first time in years right around the time I met her! The whole time I thought about this song and how it fits the situation perfectly. We are now THANKFULLY done!

Blink 182 are one of these bands that are kinda hard to pin down. They started punk, moved towards pop-y/punk lyrics, and are now leaning more towards mainstream/modern rock with the new album. This song is OK, not the best on the album, but not bad.

The line 'I need a girl that I can train' on its own is sort of sexist, but in the context of the song is understandable. He's talking about how you can't get out of a relationship until it's too late, and how girs can be really undpredictable and susceptible to mood swings, et al. Also, how the world seems to be running against you, but that seems to be a general theme with loads of their stuff.

I object to 'regan 89' saying that 'insomniacx86x' has the brain of a 6 year old. I know several 6 year olds, and they are all considerably more intelligent than s/he is.

The problem with Blink 182 isn't that they're mislabeled as punk, it's that their music sucks balls now. And it started with THIS album.

I've never heard a drummer overplay as much as Travis Barker; he clearly ruined Blink182's sound . Yes Mark is a bad bassist and Tom is a bad guitarist, but that didn't matter when they wrote Carousel, M&Ms, Toast and Bananas, Untitled, Dammit... remember, when they were good?

As for this song, it's the best song on the cd (not saying much). It appears to be about how girls are just unpredictable, and how he wishes they were just simpler. In typical "new Blink" style, he also MUST demean women by comparing them to a trainable puppy.
