Plagiarized existence exist
Among the writers of the word
Shake your spear at Shakespeare
Shake your spear at Shakespeare

Loud and noisy
Strong refrigerators
Gaining independence
Gaining independence

Stupid people do stupid things
Smart people outsmart each other
Then themselves, then themselves
Then themselves, then themselves

Take me down there
Photographic relapse
People feeding frenzy
The devil is so lovely

My blue moon rivets in exits
Forewarned customary spirits
By myself, by myself
By myself, by myself

Take me down there
Photographic relapse
People feeding frenzy
The devil is so lovely

Take me down there
Photographic relapse
People feeding frenzy
The devil is so lovely

My Opinion:You dumb fuckin people are WAY over analyzing the extra d in D-Devil. If any of you are true SOAD fans, you've seen/heard/read interviews, and at one point or another Shavo stuttered when he said the word devil. For whatever reason, the band thought it was a good idea or funny or creative or cryptic or whatever the fuck to use Shavo's stuttered devil. D-Devil. God damn. If any of you want good info. about the System, email me at thehigheryouarethefartheryoufall@yahoo.com and make the subject something SOAD related.

General Comment:I believe the song is about too things: one: being the fleeting nature of humainty.
This consists about how hummainity is constantly striving for better. Science, Art, mathematics, etc.
It speaks of the dangers of this and I think it's theme is about that. What occurs when we reach the crest of eveloution an what will we strive for then. Probubly competition with ourselves hence the world falling apart, or going to the devil. Secondly it is abut the dangers of artifical life "plagerised existence". Cloning, AI and how this may eventually overcome ourself regardless

General Comment:I believe that this song is referring to the people of this world that don't care about anything but themselves. 'Smart people outsmarting each other' means that people are in competition to be the best no matter what. 'Then themselves' is referring to people fooling themselves. 'The devil is so lovely' means that Satan is glad that all this is happening.

General Comment:This is about a little bunny rabbit who used to smoke weed and get drunk with another little bunny rabbit

That`s what Daron says before the song in several performances...

General Comment:I remember hearing that this is actually stitched together pieces from 4 other poems Serj wrote. So it might have many partial meanings but nothing concrete. Which might in itself be the meaning.
