You go to the church, you kiss the cross
You will be saved at any cost
You have your own reality
Christianity

You spend your life just kissing ass
A trait that's grown as time has passed
You think the world will end today
You praise the Lord, it's all you say

Jesus saves, listen to you pray
You think you'll see the pearly gates
When death takes you away

For all respect you cannot lust
In an invisible man you place your trust
Indirect dependency
Eternal attempt at amnesty

He will decide who lives and dies
Depopulate Satan's rise
You will be an accessory
Irreverence and blasphemy

Jesus saves, no need to pray
The gates of pearl have turned to gold
It seems you've lost your way

Jesus saves, no words of praise
No promised land to take you to
There is no other way

General Comment:This songs lyrics are irrelevant to some Christians. Tom Araya states he is a Christian, but me being the curious guy I am, I decided to check up on this statement. After surfing the web for a bit, Tom says in an interview:
Jesus came to teach us to love and accept us for who we are.
Um, sorry Tom, that's only partially correct. Jesus came to die and rise again so humans could be forgiven and taken to heaven when they die. What Tom says isn't the full picture. Also what I don't like about Tom, their albums usually have a pentagram on it, and he states: When (a band member) writes a good song, we'll use it." Or something close to that. Apparently he doesn't know that others come second and NOT first. Jesus comes first which he's obviously forgotten, or his church has taught him a twisted version of the Bible. I hope his belief takes a bigger part in the band and his life in the future (If you think this is impossible, go look at Dave Mustaine and his transformation.)

Anyway, this songs lyrics have pretty much been summed up by everyone. The song to me sounds like Slayer thinks pretty lowly of bible bashers and Jesus in general. Obviously, the people who are like "YOUR GOING TO HELL HAHA IM GOING TO HEAVEN NOW" aren't real Christians. It doesn't sound like Tom takes a full belief in Christianity, it sounds like he thinks it's just something to fall back on.

General Comment:i just want every body in this room that is atheist to know that i pray for u......a lot of u like to say well "jesus isnt real because he lets bad things happen" and if u dont know the bible too much i understand why u say wat u do....but if u take the time and learn a little about the bible, all the questioning u have towards the bible will be answered...ur all just so quick to jump to conclusins with out getting facts....also i listen to slayer and i think with songs like this and songs like "god hates us all" i tom araya is just talking about how other people think......slayer is not a satanist band either...if they were i wouldnt like em..

General Comment:I also think that not all christians are like it says in the song, because I am christian and yet i have some things I do not agree with the religion or the people from the religion so lets say that I believe in Christ more than in the religion itself

General Comment:You will find that there is no evidence that Jesus ever existed or that anything in the bible ever happened. I hate when people preach this bullshit, you should listen to your own advice. Slayer is an awesome band though, not for the close minded people though.

General Comment:I wonder how many of you have actually searched for the truth. I know many here have only gave up belief in God becuase of the way men have used God in order to control the ignorant and use God to bolster their image above others. But this isn't Jesus you'll.I would suggest your research legit Christian Scholarship and find a New Testament and study the claims and actions of Jesus. You'll be suprised at what you find.

General Comment:As someone brought up in a christian household this song is about cnot conforming to what you are taught. Just because everyone around you belives in this doesn't mean it's right.

    Non conforming rules

General Comment:This is one hell of a song, as Slayer is one hell of a band. 'Tis on my favourite songs on "Reign In Blood". This song sums up my feelings on religion (not neccesarily all of the religious people, but religion itself and what the religious megalomaniacs have done without shame), like Nirvana's "Sappy".
